Jihad in Jersey City?

Was a Coptic Christian family in New Jersey murdered for their faith? The father was an outspoken critic of Islam, who reportedly received death threats from Muslims. The Egyptian-American's entire family was found with their throats slit, leading many to insist it was an act of terrorism -- a hate crime.

Debbie Schlussel mentioned this story on my show(2/10/05) she was attacked by a Muslim caller who accused her of being a liar. Looks like Debbie might have been on to something. The story has legs.

Dear Pat, it's tragic that people feel they have to kill / attack, exact revenge, silence the other when they are criticised.

Revenge is a crime of the soul. A tortured, twisted soul.

It seems to be the motive for many of the characters in Shakespeare's plays, doesn't it? Seems to be the motive for characters in movies, novels. Real life. In politics.

In trying to understand why we, human beings, behave the way we do, I've been re-reading The Lord of the Flies - Read Politics. Power. Do not criticise. Silence the offending voice.

I've also read Dr. Jerry Jamplowski's Love Is Letting Go Of Fear. Every single one of our action / reaction stem from either love or fear.

I am a Muslim and I feel that, instead of lashing out with rage when people criticise my religion, I should try to teach with love. That requires knowledge, confidence and belief in self. It requires love of self. It requires love of others. It requires a stable mental condition.

Of course Debbie shot off her mouth before all the facts were in. The 2 guys arrested for these murders were local non-Muslim drug dealers. Both Christian by the way.
