Sports arena? Not with taxes, most say. A poll shows residents -- even fans -- oppose using public cash for the Magic.

Thanks to Eric Hogue...

Here is a website that has been established to educate taxpayers who are against paying for new ballparks, arenas and stadiums for the multi-million dollar owners who want it all for free!

There are great chat rooms, research papers on economical misrepresentations and the latest news, editorials and commentary on every city that is considering a building for the team owners.

Fieldofschemes.com is the companion website to "Field of Schemes: How the Great Stadium Swindle Turns Public Money Into Private Profit" (Common Courage Press), by Joanna Cagan and Neil deMause.

Since 1998, this website (and authors) we have been casting a critical eye on the roughly $2 billion a year in public subsidies that go toward building new pro sports facilities.

No! No! No! How many ways can I say it? This is one of the biggest scams perpetrated on the American public using tax dollars to build or upgrade arenas/stadiums for private professional teams that are making a healthy profit. Shame on Orlando if you fall for it!
