The China Threat!

Over the weekend, the Washington Times reported that Pentagon officials fear China is ramping up for a full-scale invasion of Taiwan in two years. This could provoke war with the U.S. since U.S. policy is to defend Taiwan.

Word also came this weekend that China wants to buy a major U.S. oil company, Unocal, to meet its growing energy needs. Already gasoline in America is at $60/barrel, which many attribute partly to growing demand from China.

Should Americans be alarmed at what China is doing? Is a possible showdown with China in the offing?

Jed Babbin, former Deputy Asst Sec of Defense and Contributing Editor of FamilySecurityMatters.com, stopped by the show this morning to talk about China.

China's decision to open up massive bomb shelters to the public, ostensibly to provide a respite from summer heat, has U.S. intelligence analysts concerned about a possible strategic deception by Beijing.

China is on a "hundred year march". "The last capitalist will be hung by the rope he manufactured." K. Marx. Focus grasshoppers, focus. Imperial Japan followed the same playbook in the '30's; expansion for natural resources, buy U.S. scrap iron, secure the sea lanes, build up the military... Is a sneak attack coming to a Taiwan near you? Very hush hush...Focus grasshopper, focus.
