Group launches push for Confederate tag
The organization needs 30,000 drivers to say they would buy the specialty plate.

Why would anyone want this divisive symbol on their license plate?

Depending...it would be Southern Pride first and Red Neck secondly. All depending upon who is desplaying the flag.

Mr Way has no problem displaying the southern flag (neither do I), but DOES have a problem with people from other countries (especially Latin-American countries) flying theirs. Talking out of both sides of your mouth, mister. Maybe people in LA should fly the French flag, as it was a french territory, or in Florida we can fly the Spanish flag, Mexican in Texas, Cali, New Mex, etc..??

Live and let live, EVERYBODY!

Can't wait for sicko to put in his cut and paste comments

I have no problem with anyone who wants to display their flag, as long as it's showing their heritage - not their loyalties. I am sick to death of the mexican flag being waved OVER an upside down american flag. Wave both, if you are proud to be both, but don't wave one over the other or wave one in disrepect. That is wrong and if you feel that is OK, you need to go BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY. Stop taking advantage of ours!

When a call to arms resounds throughout the land and a people relinquish the pleasant scenes of tranquil life and rally to their country's call, such action is the result of an honest conviction that the act is commendable.

Loyalty to brave men, who for four long years of desolating war--years of undimmed glory--stood by each other and fought to the bitter end with the indomitable heroism which characterized the Confederate soldier, demands from posterity a preservation of the memories of the great struggle.

"Noble souls through dust and heat rise from disaster and defeat the stronger".

Way to the right.. THANK YOU!!! Tis a great article!! We all have much to learn to remove the prejudice instilled in us in Public schools in the North. That Flag does mean many things to many people to bad it gets associated with Red Neck bigots, to some it is Southern Heritage and pride a symbol of a cause they deeply belived in . Where they losers only
in a literal sense but they did come close to winning. Its comes out more now that it perhaps was an uncessary war, how was it England did away with slavery with out a war? We all need to learn more about all that took place and why..such things as the article. I am a product of the North but now reside in Fl. I disagree with P.Cs stance but he is honest how he came by it.

My name is Josh and I am a soldier in the U.S. Army. I am a a citizen of the state of Alabama an an avid history student. Recently, I picked up a book called "The South Was Right" By James Ronald Kennedy and Walter Donald Kennedy. It was a very awakening version of the civil war as up to that point I had only seen a biased yankee version of he civil war. I had always wanted to hear the southen pespective because every time I turned around it seemed like historians were painting a horrible, almost Nazi-esk type picture of the south. That is not the south I know. hat is not the south i love. We are constantly be littled, ignored, and scrutinized by the north and I ask any northerner right now, how many southerners have died fighting for this nation. The same nation that trampeled over the south, burned its cities, buried its political philosophy with its faithful and brave soldiers. Our version of the story can't even be found in southern classrooms without somebody being accused of being racist. I fight for this nation as it is a part of my heritage. I would also fight for my southern heritage wether that be in the words that i post on some blog about confederat license plates or with a rifle in my hand fighting for a government by consent of the Governed. I would put that license plate on my car any day. Before you yankees belittle the south again, remember how many of us Southern soldiers fight for you in the deserts of the Middle east so you can have somewhat decent gas prices.
Thanks for your time.
