Critics say photo IDs for voting smacks of Jim Crow

INDIANAPOLIS -- Legislation that would require voters to show photo identification before casting ballots has touched off fierce debate in three states, with opponents complaining the measures represent a return to the days of Jim Crow.

How is asking people to show photo ID to vote racism? Asking people to positively identify themselves is racist? Who doesn't have photo ID, and how is it a burden to show it? You have to show it to use a credit card or cash a check, so why not voting?
