Was this the work of a Methodist Sleeper Cell?

3 Students Charged in Ala. Church Fires

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- For weeks, church congregants in rural Alabama were on high alert, eager to find out who was burning down their churches. The answer,
authorities now say, was three college students who took a prank too far.

But there also was bitterness and bewilderment as churchgoers learned of their alleged motives — and that two suspects were students at Birmingham-Southern College.

The private liberal arts school, where tuition is $21,000 a year, is associated with the United Methodist Church.

Why are the Methodist attacking the Baptists? Why hasn't the United Methodist Church publicly denounced this act of terrorism? Should we start profiling Methodists at airports. I'm calling on Jeb Bush to push legislation that would ban the sale of lighters and gasoline to Methodists, they can't be trusted!

Moseley told agents that the three set fire to five Baptist churches in the early morning hours of Feb. 3. A witness quoted Cloyd as saying Moseley did it "as a joke and it got out of hand."

If this is a joke what's the punch line?

Are we becoming so label-centric that we have to place an affiliation on every person that does anything? It is hard to hold the church or the school responsible for what these students did. Though some of the opinions which led them to these acts may have formed at their church or university, they are individuals and acted on their own behalfs.
