Bush 'is planning nuclear strikes on Iran's secret sites'

First of all it's an anonymously sourced article by Seymour Hersh of the NewYorker Magazine, so let's take it with a grain of salt. It could be nothing more than another scare tactic of the left. But what if it is true? Would it be a bad idea? Hardly! Think of how many US Military lives it would save. It looks like old George has a little bit of Harry Truman in him, which is not a bad thing.

"President Reagan reserved the right to use nuclear weapons against the Soviets.

The first President Bush let Saddam know he would use nukes if Saddam went chemical.

The current President Bush let Saddam know he would use nukes if Saddam went WMD and reports have indicated he would also go nuclear if Al Qaeda struck the US with WMDs.

So why is it a BIG SURPRISE to Seymour Hersh and the New Yorker Magazine that President Bush would consider, as an option, tactical nuclear weapons against Iran in the same way JFK considered using nukes against the USSR during the Cuba Missile Crisis?"-Frank Gaffney

by SEYMOUR M. HERSH

The Bush Administration, while publicly advocating diplomacy in order to stop Iran from pursuing a nuclear weapon, has increased clandestine activities inside Iran and intensified planning for a possible major air attack. Current and former American military and intelligence officials said that Air Force planning groups are drawing up lists of targets, and teams of American combat troops have been ordered into Iran, under cover, to collect targeting data and to establish contact with anti-government ethnic-minority groups. The officials say that President Bush is determined to deny the Iranian regime the opportunity to begin a pilot program, planned for this spring, to enrich uranium. MORE
