Illegal aliens(criminals) set to teach gringos a lesson

Some Immigration Protest Organizers Fear Backlash Over Planned May 1st Work Stoppage

Organizers of the movement that has brought hundreds of thousands of people out into the streets all across America to protest tough new laws against illegal immigrants are now split over whether to go ahead with a planned national work stoppage and student boycott on May 1st.

Supporters want to dramatize the importance of immigrants to the U.S. economy by staying away for a day, and also hope to show that immigration reform is a major issue for future voters by having kids stay out of school. Armando Navarro, coordinator of the National Alliance for Human Rights, told AP, "Our credibility as a community is on the line. We've shown our power politically, but if we can't show it economically, we are going to lose it."

But others are worried about a backlash, concerned the action will make immigrants look anti-American, annoy the public, and alienate lawmakers still considering how to change immigration policy. They're also worried that thousands of people could get fired, and are concerned that keeping kids out of school sends the wrong message.

Some leaders have proposed a compromise, supporting a May 1st protest, but only after school lets out and businesses are closed. Among them is Los Angeles Cardinal Roger Mahoney, who's been outspoken in support of illegal immigrants. He said during Easter Mass, "Go to work. Go to school. And then join thousands of us at a major rally afterward."

I say, let them "strike". I don't think it will affect the great many of us at all. All it is going to do is make us realize we really don't need these people in our country and give us one more reason to send them all back from where they came.
