Does the bill require Middle School students to choose a career? I was at the Florida House of Representatives a month ago when they were discussing the new Education Bill. The Middle School Reform that was included in this bill included students taking a semester course in 7th or 8th grade on career exploration. Nothing in the bill made students choose a "career". Now the High School reform did include setting up a system where students would choose "majors". The "majors" system is designed to allow students who are not planning on going to college the chance to gain expertise in a technical field and qualify for certification right out of high school.
