'Newsweek' Poll Gives Dems Higher Marks For First Time on Terror War, Moral Values

A Newsweek poll out Saturday (October 7th) holds bad news for Republicans just over a month before the midterm elections, including that Democrats for the first time since 2001 score better with Americans on fighting the war on terror and moral values. Respondents said they trusted Democrats over Republicans to fight the war on terror by a 44 to 37 percent margin, as well as on moral values, by a margin of 42 percent to 36 percent. Democrats also led on all the other issues asked about, including: handling Iraq (47 percent to 34 percent); the economy (53 to 31); health care (57 to 24); federal spending and the deficit (53 to 29); gas and oil prices (56 to 23); and immigration (43 to 34).

I'm sorry I can't stop laughing. When I think Democrat I don't think "Moral Values". I think

*Cynthia McKinney

I read the Newsweek "poll" with utter amazement. The questions posed were slanted to yield one and only one result: doom and gloom for Republicans. A more amazing tidbit is that voters are so easily swayed. This Foley scandal has gotten out of hand. THIS is the most pressing issue we face? Let's not worry too much about rogue factions with nukes. Let's not worry that Islam wants to force conversion and blind compliance. Let's not worry about the consequences for not following the aforementioned directive. Let's not worry that America is slowly, deliberately and methodically being invaded by ILLEGAL immigrants. HELL NO! Let's worry about a sick elected freak who made choices with a person of the age of consent. Now THAT'S critical. Voters in this country deserve what they get. People in this country (not all) are ignorant and stupid - easily swayed by the political mood of the day. If ignorance is bliss, we have too many happy people chosing the direction of our country!

This Newsweek "poll" is a joke. The questions posed are slanted to yield one and only one result" doom and gloom for the Republicans. The actions of a sick elected freak rule American's decisions? PLLLLLEEEEAAASSSEE. Is our electorate that stupid and ignorant? Let's not worry too much about rogue factions that want to nuke us. Let's not worry about the "Religion of Peace" and its unyielding desire to convert or behead us. Let's not worry about the systematic, methodical and deliberate invasion of our borders by ILLEGAL immigrants. Let's not worry about treasonous actions comitted by people in the media and Washington. HELL NO! Why would we want to worry about such non-issues such as these? If ignorance is bliss, we have far too many happy people chosing the direction of this Nation. Perhaps the American people will get what they deserve.
