Now PC, Mr. "Funny pants".. Everybody knows that the U.S. Coast Guard is not part of DOD, and does not report to Donald Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense. So they have no dog in that fight... The USCG is under the Secretary of Transportation, and reports to Mss. Mary E. Peters. reference: the Coast Guard Website, www.uscg.mil.

Some how or other Mr. Burns (Cjherckoff) from the Dept of Homeland Security, puts his 2 cents worth in...

"Semper Paratus" from a retired US Coast Guard serviceman, that watched the WTC towers being built while stationed on Governors Island, NYC, NY 1972 - 1975.

An interesting fact most don't know: ALL of the armed services publications are owned by one entity: Gannett (aka USA Today). It used to be fairly centrist publication. Not sure, but I think Gannett hired some ex-NY Times people on the editorial boards. This would explain it's rapid and rabid shift to the left.
