N.Y. Teacher Accused of Raping Boy

ALBANY, N.Y. A 42-year-old teacher at a Catholic school who was charged with rape for allegedly having sex with an underage male student posted a $20,000 bond Tuesday and was released from jail.

Authorities said Sandra Beth Geisel had sex with four students from the Christian Brothers Academy in Colonie, N.Y., but in three of the cases the boys were 17-years-old and therefore were legally able to give their consent. Geisel faces sexual assault charges for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old boy.

Two observations; First why is important that she taught at a CATHOLIC school. When Debra Lafave was arrested I don't remember the press making a big deal that she taught at a PUBLIC school. Secondly, most people think of rape as forcing yourself on someone else that doesn't want to participate in the sexual act. Can a female teacher force herself on a willing participant. Does that constitute rape? Why is society so sympathetic when it comes to female predators? I think what she did was despicable. Sandra Beth Geisel betrayed the public trust and abused her position of authority. She should have her teaching license yanked for good. Does she deserve to go to jail for seven years?

So what is going on? And…where is the outrage?

Can you imagine what the reaction would be if these teachers had been men…who had sex with teenage girls?

They'd be locked up for good.

But since it's women having sex with teenage boys, somehow it's not as bad?

They mentioned Catholic school because that is where so much teacher/student sex abuse has gone on for decades, and then covered up all the time. The only twist is this time it is a female teacher instead of a priest.
