Vulnerable US Ports Made More Vulnerable

You probably didn't know this, BUT, the Federal Government, with NO notice, turned over the management of six of the Nation’s most important ports – New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Miami, Baltimore and New Orleans – to Arab World control. I am not kidding!!!

Dubai Ports World, a United Arab Emirates company, will now handle port management and securty at our nation's six biggest ports following the UAE company’s purchase of London-based Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., which previously had the contract.

Contrast this move with the post-9/11 decision by the US government to take over airport security and you see how incredible contradictory and foolish the decision by the US Treasury is to turn over port security to an Arab World country.

In his informative column in the Washington Times, the ever-vigilant Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy warns how dangerous this move is to homeland security; and calls on the Congress to reverse this idiotic and risky move by the government.
