Couey confession questioned

The confession investigators say murder suspect John Evander Couey gave them for the murder of Jessica Lunsford could be thrown out because he wasn't read his rights, Mark Lunsford's attorney said on national television Friday.

In an interview with talk show host Bill O'Reilly on "The O'Reilly Factor," Herb Cohen, attorney for the child's father, talked about the case and the latest accusations. Cohen said Citrus County sheriff's investigators didn't read Couey his Miranda rights before interviewing him about the 9-year-old Homosassa girl's murder.

Sheriff: Lunsford Case `Rock Solid'
His investigation into girl's killing was heavily criticized.

INVERNESS -- Citrus County Sheriff Jeff Dawsy nodded slowly as he listened to the criticism of his agency's investigation into Jessica Lunsford's slaying. He'd heard the question before. How good is the case against John Couey, the man accused of Jessica's death?

When the room was silent, Dawsy answered, his blue eyes hard and determined.

"It's rock solid," he said. "I'm telling you, I got Couey."

Somebody ain't telling the truth!
