Details unclear in boy's shooting. Mother starts own probe of teen's death in Sanford.

SANFORD -- The events leading to the fatal shooting of a teenager by a pair of security guards early Saturday morning remained murky Sunday as the boy's mother began her own inquiry.

Two guards at Country Lake Apartments near Seminole High School shot into a car driven by Travares McGill, killing the 16-year-old at 3:10 a.m. The guards, Bryan P. Ansley and William P. Swofford, told police they thought the boy was trying to run them down. Read the rest on the Orlando Sentinel story HERE.

Gee what's wrong with this story? A 16 year old out at 3:00AM, driving a car that doesn't belong to him, without a license, in a threatening manner and guess who's the bad guy? That's right the Security Guards, go figure!

At what point do you say it's ok to pull the trigger? After he runs over one security guard? maybe not until after he gets the second one ... the first one was an "accident"? What was a 16 year old doing driving "a dangerous weapon" without license or authority at 3 AM doing anyway? Oh, did I mention that the guards didn't have the chance to question him as to his age ... it's usually dark at 3AM in Florida at any time of the year. Chances are if they had the oportunity to ask him, he might have done something drastic.

What a sick and miserable bunch of racists you Americans are! You all need a reality check. I'm an Australian.

Gianni Wise this isn't about race,
it's about poor parenting and lack of personal responsibility for one's own actions.

By the way...if you read further articles you'll find out that the boy traded the vehicle's owner crack cocaine in order to have the use of the vehicle that night!

Did anyone actually read the article and note that this kid had already run into one of his own passegers after they had gotten out of the car pinning him against another car and breaking their leg?

WELL I ACTUALLY NEW TRAVARES(THE 16 YR OLD) FOR A COUPLE YEARS AND IVE KNOWN WILLIAM LIKE MY WHOLE LIFE SO I CAN SEE WHERE EVERY ONES COMING FROM, FROM BOTH SIDES TRAVARES MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN RIGHT BY BEIN OUT AT 3 IN THE MORNING WITH A LICENSE, BUT I DON'T THINK THAT GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO START SHOOTING I'VE KNOWN TRAVARES FOR A WHILE AN I DON'T THINK HES THE KIND OF PERSON THAT WOULD TRY TO RUN SOME ONE OVER BUT THE SECURIT GUARDS DIDN'T SO IF THEY FELT THEIR LIVES WERE IN DANGER THEN I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING IN THIER POSITION.
