How to pay for the $200 Billion Katrina Bailout

Tancredo wants U.S. to sell off land for Katrina aid
The congressman from Littleton introduces legislation to get federal acreage on the market to help offset hurricane costs.

Washington - Millions of acres of government-owned land in the West should be sold to pay the bill for Hurricane Katrina recovery, Rep. Tom Tancredo said Wednesday.

The government owns more than 650 million acres, mostly in the Western states.

"Do you think that an area 10 times the area of the state of Colorado is appropriate for the federal government to own?" Tancredo said.

Or

Why Not Kill The Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit?

* The program hasn't started yet so if it's killed no one will actually lose any benefits.

* The program was originally billed as costing $400 billion dollars over its first 10 years. That number has already been inflated to over $720 billion dollars and it will likely continue to increase.

A lot of seniors I know don't want to participate in this program anyway. I'm not sure it is going to solve the problem.

I think if we did all the things Sick Boy suggests, we would have plenty of money for our seniors. I especially like the idea of deporting ALL illegal aliens.
