One of my goals for this week is to get national attention for the Jan Hall story.

I have sent out the following e-mail to some key contacts in the National media.

Great 1st Amendment story.

Here is the Cliff Notes version of the story...

An Orange County Elementary teacher was suspended without pay and ultimately forced to resign. Her crime? An allegedly racist letter. Private correspondence with an elected representative that somehow fell into the hands of a Spanish Language newspaper that printed the letter without her consent. The school district is now the target of a $20 million lawsuit for violating the teacher's first amendment rights.

Here are some links to the story...

Teacher Suspended Over 'Puerto Ricans Destroying Orlando' Letter

Text Of Controversial Letter
Some very serious charges are raised in this letter including the fact that many teachers are not properly certified. The school district superintendent Ron Blocker refuses to respond when asked if there is any validity to these charges. Also, a crime may have been committed here. Theft of mail is a federal crime punishable by jail time. How did this private letter fall into the public domain.? Why did the newspaper El Nuevo Dia publish it without Jan Hall's permission?

Let's see just how successful I am getting national attention for this story.
