WHY DIDN'T YOU DEPLOY THE BUSES DURING THE MANDATORY EVACUATION, MAYOR?...

WHY DIDN'T YOU DEPLOY THE BUSES DURING THE MANDATORY EVACUATION, MAYOR?... It’s Bush’s fault, isn’t it?

Louisiana disaster plan, pg 13, para 5 , dated 01/00

Really sad to see how much people depend on the BIG MAMA instead of knowing they can depend on the local people, then state, first. TRULY, they KNEW this thing was coming!! Why not mandatory HELP before?? I believe the city of NO dropped the ball first, then the state of LA! Interesting to hear all the folks when help came, that THANKED GOD and blessed those who came compared to the complainers and dependents only complain some more. ALSO, to see those who were determined to survive and became responsible and came walking/swimming out themselves. OF COURSE, elderly and sick couldn't do that but when you hear that by Fri. PM they had rescued 4,000 people (one at a time) from homes in NO, how much time do you think that would take?? THIS WAS AN ACT of GOD. Maybe we ALL had better perk up and listen to what HE might be saying!

You know what? I am sick and tired of seeing these able-bodied people whining about no one getting them out! I'm a native Floridian. I've lived through many Hurricanes in my 57 years, and car or no car, money or no money, if they tell me to evacuate and I have no car...I'm putting on my shoes and hiking my fat white butt out! I feel bad for what they're going through now, but I gotta say...you could have walked a long way in 4-5 days!
