Does Danny Know What He’s Doing?

Heart-breaking moments—and, amazingly some lighter ones, too—fill the trail-blazing ‘Breaking Bonaduce.’

Sept. 30, 2005 - Next week, Danny Bonaduce will try to kill himself. Not everyone will think that this is a terrible thing. Bonaduce is perhaps the most egregious example of a washed-up child actor who refuses to go away—he’s somehow kept himself in the spotlight for 30 years since his only legitimate success, “The Partridge Family,” went off the air, and plenty of people think that death wouldn’t be a bad way to silence the loudmouth redhead forever. For those cynics, the truly bad news is this: Bonaduce not only survives (which is often what happens when you try to off yourself using your wife’s pink safety razor), but the whole affair is bound to make him semifamous all over again, seeing how he attempts suicide while filming a VH1 reality TV show called “Breaking Bonaduce.”
