Arkansas clinic offers free abortion in wake of Hurricane Katrina
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. A doctor in Arkansas is offering to perform abortions for hurricane evacuees for free.
Doctor Jerry Edwards runs the Little Rock Family Planning clinic. It's the only one in central Arkansas. Normally it charges 525 to 600 dollars for an abortion but he has already performed six for free.
Doctor Edwards say it may be too dangerous for evacuees to wait until they're able to return home.
But the head of the anti-abortion group, Arkansas Right to Life, says abortions will only further traumatize women who've already lost so much in the hurricanes.
Now that's liberal compassion for you!
