'IT WAS A HOAX' Say what?

New York subway threat a hoax: reports

The subway terrorist threat that gripped New York last weekend was a hoax stemming from false intelligence provided by a normally reliable informant, US law enforcement officials were quoted as saying.

According to newspaper and television reports, the unidentified officials said the informant -- believed to be from Pakistan -- had admitted leading investigators astray about a plot to bomb the New York subway system.

Here are more examples of narrow minded, instant gratification minded Americans, never looking at the bigger picture and the long term. If you haven't wrapped your head around the logic of this war, no worries, you'll always have me, the tax-payer, to pay for your welfare.

Moving into Afghanistan and Iraq was brilliant long term strategy as to the survival of the United States when we engage in an all out war with the primary players in the Middle East. We fulfilled two strategies at one time, removing a vicious dictator who had already sided against the USA and we gained valuable ground for air bases and military buildup in the region. It was a brilliant move on our part and will give us an edge in the unavoidable conflict which will occur in the region. You will come to understand and appreciate the strategy some day.

Colonialism was a complete failure it was the system that got us to where we are today. Neo-colonialism from the Neocons will also end up as a miserable failure. We are walking into disaster for our country and our people.

You say that like it's a bad thing! I'd rather be here than in a burka in the middle of 7th century Afghanistan or living in a "Truman Show" bubble in N. Korea.

Colonialism made it impossible for most third world countries to develop democratic systems. That is why they degenreated into dictatorships full of corruption. The European colonialists destroyed the indiginous political systems that were present and offered nothing more than the status of feeding and serving the host power. Our neocons offer little more than another system imposed upon them with little time for them to develop on their own, hence civil war and chaos.
