Black survivors of Katrina: We were genocide victims!
WASHINGTON -- Black survivors of Hurricane Katrina said yesterday that racism contributed to the slow disaster response. In emotional congressional testimony, some likened themselves to victims of genocide and the Holocaust.
Am I the only one that finds this slightly offensive? I don't remember Blacks being round-up put on cattle cars and taken away to the gas chambers. I could be wrong but I don't think the death toll in New Orleans was anywhere near 6,000,000.

I agree, this is a terrible and the only reason this is getting all this attention is because of race. Were there not any white or other races living there? Where was the out crying when south Florida got destroyed 15 years ago. We need to protect ourselves and stop saying it is the goverments job. Now that the goverment has been doing so much when this last storm hit FL many residents in south FL never even bought water, gas or ice as was warned to have a 3 day supply.
My question is if these people were so poor and renting who was collecting the rent and who owns the property that now we want goverment to replace. Shouldn't they have insurance! If I lived below sea level I would have flood insurance.
I truly feel bad for the poor but I feel no responsibility for those that could have left, those that did not carry proper insurance and for that city goverment that spent the goverment funding for the system to updated over the years even if it was reduce spending, and did not do it.
Oh, boo-hoo. Let me wipe away my tears.
Blacks claim their collective problems are due to white racism, but facts show that's wrong. One of the most successful immigrant groups in the U.S. is that made up of African immigrants. They are every bit as black as our native-born blacks, plus they often have the added handicap of poor English skills, yet, as a group, they do well in this country, because they see this as the land of opportunity, where personal initiative pays off. They don't stand around whining about welfare programs; they put their shoulders to the wheel and make a life for themselves.
If native-born blacks would dare to step off the Massa Kennedy's Democrat welfare plantation, they might find life could be a lot better.
Most of the African immigrants into this country come from Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana and Somalia. Actually they usually have excellent English skills. They prize higher education and have 2 parent nuclear family units. They will work hard to put their children through school and in most cases they come here legally through the proper channels. The majority of them are Muslim.
Those countries you mentioned, they are seeking refuge in other African countries. They are not coming in any substantial numbers to the US. The countries I have mentioned are the ones where the US has been receiving legal immigrants since the 1960's. Many are now second generation immigrants.
Let's see where do I start. The Liberian civil war was not about Muslims, if anything it was Christian on Christian, or to some degree Christian on Muslim, as Muslims are a distinct minority in Liberia. Charles Taylor the butcher of Monrovia is a born again Christian who has had dinner with Pat Robertson. The civil war in Rwanda was about Hutus vs Tutsis, both Christianized by missionaries a hundred years ago. No Muslims involved. Namibia's struggle was against South African control. Where are the Muslims in Namibia? And the situation in South Africa was apartheid, self righteous white Christians in their all white churches vs the majority black Christians in their all black churches. Again where were the Muslims involved? There is a very tiny minority of Indian Muslims in South Africa who were also discriminated against by the apartheid government. Where did you come up with these baseless accustions against Muslims in the afore mentioned countries?
Both Charles Taylor and Pat Robertson had a diamond smuggling scam going on to loot the country dry. Pat also had a scam going on with the late Mobutu Sese Seiko of Zaire, another blood thirsty born again "Christian" who looted and oppressed his people for years. Get real man!

Your argument stems from ignorance of your own text. Try to stay away from Christian hate sites, they usually contain wrong info even about Christianity. And pleny of born agains are murderers. Check out the state prison system. Many get born again in prison, come out only to murder. Just because somebody does not adhere to your version of Christianity does not mean you have the authority to judge them.
