U.S. teacher sexpidemic spreading across planet

What's the solution to the outbreak of teacher-student sex? A new York Times article suggests that we should lower the age of consent to 14. I'm talking about it Thursday.

One solution and one solution only.
PROSECUTE! I don't care hw pretty you think you are if you touch a child or minor, you as the adult are wrong(on so many levels). If you think that it is some sort of childhood boy conquest for your son to engage in sexual activity with a "cute" adult, you should quit trying to live your fantacies through your children. I don't care whose fault it is that these teachers are doing this to our children. They are the adults and as such sould be procecuted. If not by the parents by the STATE! I see in my future home schooling, because if this happened to my child and the perp's attorney used the word "cute" for a defense, they would have no problem putting my "cute" butt in jail.

Pat - I disagree with your description of the problem with teachers having sex with their students. There are many teachers who do their jobs and do not in any way exploit their students in a sexual manner.

To the 1st "anonymous" writer - even if we were to follow your rule, it would be wrong for a teacher to have sex with a student. It would be just like a manager having sex with one of his/her employees.

To the 2nd "anonymous" writer - For every one teacher who has sex with his/her student, there are countless numbers of teachers who don't. Also, if you teach your children proper morals, your child will reject any moves the teacher makes and will speak out when something is wrong. Educating your child (homeschooling) is not the answer.
