Fla. Dad Punches Accused Teacher's Aide

A man is called “father of the year” after he marched into a classroom and punched a teacher's aide after his teenage daughter said the man inappropriately touched her.

The dad (Dave F. Swafford) joins me to tell his side of the story.

Like you, Pat, I take issue with this man who says his daughter does not lie to him, yet he does urine tests on her. If there is an issue of trust, how can he say she never lies to him? It sounds to me like he may run his house like the militia. I pity the girl IF she did lie to him this time. I would imagine that the punishment coming from her father might be far greater than from anyone else.

You mentioned the racial makeup this morning and from the appearance of the father, I think there is a great chance that this whole thing was a set-up one way or the other.

Hey Pat

I live in an upper middle class to affluent neighbor hood. The kids in my area live in a plastic bubble and are well insulated from the blight that infects our city's. What Mr. Swafford did was give the students a quick class in " Do not push buttons 101 "

I grew up in South Central L.A. and Mr. Swafford's actions would be par for the course in that part of town. I know what he did was wrong, but in retrospect some of the kid's may have learned a good lesson on how not to deal with a situation on both sides.

If the teacher did give him a smug and cocky smile. He asked for it! It sounds like both parties were in the wrong and I wish the best for Mr. Swafford.

Have a nice day

The guy already has a felony record. Perhaps his violent behavior should be looked at by the authorities. Perhaps he beats his daughter. Perhaps she made up the story to keep her father from beating her. If I was that teacher I would go after him criminally and in civil court for damages.

A picture is worth a thousand words...just look at this man's face and perhaps you will have a revelation as to what is most likely the REAL story in this case.
Does hatred of minorities maybe ring a bell???
