US president 'troubled' by Haditha shootings

US President George W. Bush said he was "troubled" by allegations that US Marines killed unarmed civilians in Haditha, Iraq, and said if crimes were committed, the guilty would be punished.
"I am troubled by the initial news stories," the US president said.

"If, in fact, laws were broken, there will be punishment," said Bush.
He added: "Those who violated the law, if they did, will be punished."

Is Bush throwing the Marines under the bus?
