For a white man's execution, where are black protesters?

Outcry on behalf of Tookie might be viewed as race-based
Jasmyne A. Cannick of S.F.Gate

Los Angeles -- In the wee hours of the morning of Jan. 17, another man will be put to death by lethal injection in the state of California. This comes exactly 36 days after the execution of Stanley Tookie Williams. But where are the protesters?

With just a few days to go before the scheduled execution of a 76-year-old blind and deaf man who uses a wheelchair, there has been no public outcry of support for clemency for Clarence Ray Allen, who is white. There have been no planned protests and celebrity read-ins in support of saving an old man's life. Community activists and civil rights leaders aren't organizing statewide tours to bring attention to Allen's execution. There hasn't even been one "Kill Clarence Ray Allen Hour" from KFI-AM's "John and Ken Show."

Which raises the question: Was the community cry for clemency for Williams because he was a black man, or was it because the death penalty is immoral, inhumane and cruel?

Granted, Allen hasn't written any children's books, been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, or had a Hollywood actor play him in a film, but that doesn't mean his life isn't worth saving.

Hey, he's white! What do you expect? Don't you know all us whites are just evil racists and deserve to die.

But if you want the real facts, just take a look at the FBI stats on race & crime. Facts are not raciest.

Facts, facts, facts! Facts are bad, because they contradict liberal mythology. You really need to use your feelings more.

Facts, go a long way back, fellows. In my humble opinion it all boils down to immenent domain and the force that drives it. It's that feeling of supiority that gives us the right to just take it. Its for the good of us all (except the ones we take it away from). The whites took america because they needed it. It was only inhabited by savages and it was for the best that we take control of the land and better ourselves. And yes we could use the help of cheap labor from another source of savages from another contenant. There is no hope that these peoples will ever be civilized. It's for their own good that we do this.
Who can say that these were not actual "facts" in those times.
And who can say it wasn't supposed to happen that way.
I truely believe that racism, as it is today, started when the south lost the war. But it was meant to be. Because some white people thought that all people should be free. And they should, so everybody get over it.
Except convicted killers of course. It is for the good of all, right?

" ... immenent(sic) domain ..." ??

I read that stuff over twice, and it still doesn't make sense.

Europeans taking land away from the American aborigines doesn't justify a double standard regarding the death penalty.

The Civil War was fought over money, not slavery. Even if your revisionist history were correct, that still doesn't justify a double standard regarding the death penalty.

Immanence was the word I was trying to coin. Misspelled it. sorry. And my paridy was a shot at humor, not justification of double standards. I believe the man should die just like Williams. And I don't expect blacks to protest his death because he is white. But on the same token they should not have protested for williams either. Its a unity thing with them that they feel is their God given right. So again, God inspires a self centered pride. But it is this pride that has been the spark that has kept humanity going. Double standards is a way of life throughout history. My real problem with all of this is why is this man given 15 minutes of fame because nobody protested. Is this a backlash??? Are we using another innocent victim for our commentaries....
Let the guilty SOB be executed in peace. Pun intended.

Do you remember that Jesus was also executed. Trust me, its not the end.
