Criminal Records, Bogus Licenses Among Truckers at Key U.S. Port

The report showed that recently the Department of Homeland Security had done some looking into how carefully the truck drivers who are allowed full access to our ports had been screened before being given such clearance.

DHS checked 9000 truckers. 4500 of those checked had criminal backgrounds - some of them quite extensive with homicide, assault, weapons charges, sex offenses, arson, drug dealing, identity theft, cargo theft, MS-13 gang affiliation, transporting massive amounts of narcotics (thirteen pounds of cocaine in a single instance), and counterfeiting (half million dollars found in one instance.)

But that wasn't the worst of the discoveries - 500 of those checked were completely bogus identities - leaving officials unsure of who these people were. Fake drivers licenses, and other forms of ID were used to gain port security clearance access.

39 of those checked had direct links to Iran.

So forget about the stupid feckless UAE story, it has no teeth. Instead imagine an Iranian trucker using a fake ID, secures clearances, and drives a 40 container filled with traditional explosives and one suitcase nuke into the middle of New York Harbor.

Buh Bye Manhattan...and 8-13 million people.

And somehow it's all Bush's fault (ofcourse). *eye roll* Just another story that won't get the attention it deserves until it's too late....and it may already be in process for all we know, and I wouldn't be surprised.
