Do you think Hurricane Katrina is God's punishment for something?
Yeah New Orleans is a pretty decadent city. What did Biloxi, MS ever do to incur God's wrath?
One caller said God is punishing people that build below sea level. I added that was to have been the 11th commandment unfortunately Moses ran out of tablet.

The wrath of God is not something to wish on anyone. New Orleans is not a city I would visit, the acts promoted as the cities identity is a sad state of affairs, but the wrath of God... I do not know nor care to speculate.

Not sure if it is true or not. (I did not look it up) but, I was told "Katrina" means to clean. It would be ironic..... Jim in PA
Anyone who believes in God must at least admit that He let this calamity fall upon New Orleans as well as the rest of the Gulf Coast. If the question is to be asked about why would He Judge them, we must also ask why he let this happen.
However, the reaction to the disaster does make you wonder. In most times of crisis, people band together. Not in New Orleans. That insight into their attitudes and behavior ought to be enough to make you wonder whether this was punishment.
God is still in the judging business. We, however, ought not to be.
and what did we in Central Florida do to piss god off last year? No my friend....its hurricane season.
No I think it is one of the extreme storms that seem to be happening more and more all over the world.
However I do believe we all face consequences for the things that we do wrong. We are the creators of much of our own suffering and the suffering of those close to us. I also believe that there is a God who can and may intervene when and how he pleases
Well, if this is the wrath of God, I guess George Bush is off the hook for "causing" Katrina. If the mayor and governor weren't so incompetent much of this would be a moot point!
