I promised you national attention for the Jan Hall story.

Thanks to our good friends at WorldNetDaily...

WFLA talk-show host Pat Campbell defended Hall.

"This lady sent a private, personal correspondence to her elected representatives voicing some of her very legitimate concerns about the school district," Campbell told WND.

The radio host mentioned problems with teacher certification and English-language issues in the local schools.

"When we bring this up on the radio, nobody has called up to say 'Jan Hall is a liar,'" Campbell explained.

Campbell said he is concerned, however, about some of the "sweeping generalizations" Hall made in the letter.

"I think some of them are maybe born out of ignorance," he said. "If anything, maybe she deserves to go to the 'Marge Schott-John Rocker School of Sensitivity Training,' but I don't think she deserves to lose her job."

Campbell says Hall fears going to the grocery store now because she has been portrayed as a racist.

"I don't think she's a racist," he told WND. "If she had used derogatory terms, I'd say she probably is a racist – but she didn't."

Campbell says he is hoping to uncover the identity of the person who shared the letter with El Nuevo Dia, saying whatever elected official turned it over "cannot be trusted."

Now it's on to the Cable News Networks!

My friend, who is a substitute teacher, recently experienced something similar to Jan Hall. As a parent and a taxpayer she voiced her opinion to someone about some things happening at the school where her daughter attends. She was very clear when she spoke noting that these were her opinions alone and not those of the school, other faculty or school board. She was not teaching or even on school grounds when it was said

The principal did not have the decency to “fire” her. He simply had her name removed from the list of available substitutes. His decision was made without confronting my friend, giving her a chance to deny the allegation, or even listening to her side of the story.

Unfortunately it's not about the plight of Jan Hall but rather the career climb of Pat Campbell. I don't think Pat gives a rats behind about Jan Hall. It's all about feeding Pats gigantic ego.

If you ask me, I think this was submitted by Curt Heally, Jim Turner's producer over at the nursing home with call letters.

Pat is the best thing to hit this market in a long time. Get back to work Curt...you never know when DBO might need you to fill in for the garden guy.

Well she should have sent her complaint anonymously. So it`s all about deep throat again, and not about what Jan did. I sure hope we don`t have to rehash this story 30 years from now.

Ms. Hall should know better. Teachers of any background need to be qualified. She has however stereotyped a single group, as if only Hispanic teachers might lack credentials. Has she given careful analysis to her assertions? Do we want someone who applies such wide racial stereotypes teaching our children? This would only help erode the principles of tolerance and merit, ideals upon which this country is founded. Our free speech rights are sacred, but once Ms. Hall decided to engage in communications/speech to her elected officials, in order to affect public policy, she must be prepared to defend her beliefs in plain view. The point of free speech is having competition of ideas and letting the best ideas stand up to the rest. Ms Hall can not have it both ways. If she wants to change public policy, she should be able to defend her views in public. She needs to give her views some analysis, to be prepared to defend them, once, as they should, become part of public discourse.
