The Vast Majority of Americans Favor MORE “Domestic Spying”

An informal study conducted by The Science of Strategy Institute has found that more than 80% of respondents favor more domestic spying. This development comes despite recent media coverage putting what President Bush calls “domestic eavesdropping” in a negative light. Less than 5% of those surveyed viewed that all domestic spying should cease altogether.

“If the term, ‘domestic spying,’ now means intercepting the communication of foreign terrorists with their contacts in the US, most reasonable people are going to support it,” explains Gary Gagliardi, the award-winning author of a dozen books on strategy and the founder of the Science of ‘Strategy Institute. “The average person realizes that spying is a necessary component in any workable strategy and most people want to be safe against terrorist attack here at home. The media is doing a real disservice by broadening a term that used to mean ‘spying on US political organizations’ to include spying on terrorist operatives that may be working here.”

The problem is not so much with the "spying", but with the potential consequences. Who is to stop the administration from using this power for other pursuits. I do not trust any in power to always do the right thing

If the feds get into the habit of spying in inappropriate ways, there's a very real danger that the Democrats, if and when they come back into power, will use that power to monitor those whom they don't like, i.e., Christians, conservatives, etc.

What goes around comes around. This domestic spying will come back to haunt eveyone.

This story is such a load of BS. What else can the Dems latch onto to try and make Bush look bad. Hanging chads, fake military documents, Katrina and bird flu have all flopped. I think they are running out of ideas fast.
