Howard Dean said what?

Democratic Party chairman calls for nation to confront ‘ugly truth’

Howard Dean said that race played a significant role in who survived and who died in New Orleans. Do you agree with him?

I heard Dean saying something different than what you were trying to twist it in to.
"Coming to Terms to me, means FACE fact and let chips fall where they may.

The Mayor of N.O. knew his people could not (poor)leave. His press conferance two days before the hurricane hit he begged everyone to leave?? He could have use school busses there to move them. Instead he chose to blame someone else (Bush). Who is really responsible for their community??

Please let me rephrase this

I heard Dean saying something different than what you PAT CAMBELL were trying to twist it in to.

"We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not," Dean said.

This is what I heard PC play

So what, he basically did speak the truth.
Economics, meaning poor people; age, meaning older people who tend to be stubborn or hard to move because of various illnesses; and race, because, face it, 90% of the people u saw still in N.O. were of a specific race (black).
At least he didn't blame the president like everyone else with a chip on their shoulder.

It is sad people are always willing to believe conspiracy theories. No I don't believe for a minute that skin color had anything to do with it.
I noticed Bush holding and comforting a colored person on television. I believe that gesture was sincere.

Is it politically incorrect to call someone colored?

In the United States over the course of 100 years blacks became Negroes then became black again then became Afro Americans( the current term) In the meantime the term colored came into and went out of use while the related term people of color came into use later on. The term people of color refers in addition to African Americans to any non white person

I think it actually had more to do with the population demographics.

Dean was way off base and continues to use the news to play politics.

Kind of like Shummer using katrina to raise money for the Democratic party. He did take that off his site after he was caught! Shame on you Chuck.

Dean and the other RICH Dems must keep the poor man down and voting for the Kennedy clan and the Kennedy wannabes!

As soon as the public realizes that Howard Dean is certifiably nuts, the sooner we will learn to ignore anything that comes out of his mouth.

As for this issue, when a city has such a high percentage of minorities and poor, it would logically follow that they would be hit the hardest in a disaster such as Katrina. It isn't about race, it is about location at the time of the arrival of the hurricane as well as the levy breach.

We all feel incredibly bad for those people. It was a catastrophe. The mayor of NO and the Governor of Louisiana had their brakes on when they should have been doing something to avert the devistation to the humans and pets. It is always easy to pass the buck and they certainly are doing that! That trait seems to fall heavily on the Democrats!!
