The Democratic primary for the 8th District is getting intense, if not nasty. Alan Grayson(a.k.a.Harry Blackstone Jr.) has some hard-hitting mailers going out there ... one of which bashes Charlie Stuart for being anti-abortion -- and then features a coat hanger as the future for women if he gets into office. I can't help but think that's a little too intense for most people.

Plus...Grayson uses creative license

8th District congressional candidate Alan Grayson is apparently hard up for endorsements, because he's taken to bastardizing quotes, making them into something they're not -- at least in my case.

His campaign recently sent out an e-mail blast that quoted me as saying: “Grayson is the only Dem in the race!”

Now first of all, I'm not one to use exclamation points very often. (Or ALL CAPS, for that matter ... except for one time a couple of months ago when I wanted to share with Rich Crotty and Buddy Dyer one tiny little detail that I figured both men must not have been aware of when they proposed spending a quarter-billion dollars on the Citrus Bowl: "WE DON'T HAVE A FOOTBALL TEAM!" I stand by that excessive punctuation. But I digress.)

What Grayson's campaign creatively did was lop off the first half of my sentence, which said in a column earlier this month: "For many casual voters, Grayson is the only Dem in the race." And that was referring to the fact that Grayson's main Democratic opponent, Charlie Stuart, was not yet on the air with his ads. So the casual voters weren't aware of him at the time. Well, Stuart is on the air now -- in higher-profile spots than Grayson, in fact. And with a much higher-profile endorsement ... that of Bob Graham.

Many positive developments in Iraq

U.S. COMMANDER OPTIMISTIC ABOUT IRAQI FORCES TAKEOVER WITHIN 18 MONTHS: General George Casey, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, was optimistic yesterday (August 30th) that Iraqi forces will be able to provide their own security within 18 months. Casey said, "I don't have a date, but I can see over the next 12 to 18 months, the Iraqi security forces progressing to a point where they can take on the security responsibilities for the country, with very little coalition support." Once that happens, U.S. troops wouldn't leave immediately, however. The plan is for the U.S. forces to hand over responsibility to the Iraqis and then move into large bases and provide support while Iraqis take the lead. A drawdown of U.S. forces would begin after that.

High School Students Will Learn About Teacher's Sex Change

Students at Batavia High School in Batavia, New York, will begin the school year by attending question-and-answer sessions about one of their teachers who's undergoing a sex change. The teacher, who wasn't identified for privacy reasons, is still going through a medical gender transition, but will return to school in September dressed as a woman and will be addressed as woman as well. Under state and federal laws, a person with gender identity disorder is considered disabled, so is protected from discrimination and must be reasonably accommodated by an employer.

Administrators, counselors and psychologists who've gotten training in gender identity issues will hold the student forums, which will be followed by a meeting open to the public. There'll also be a meeting for staff and parents to outline the medical and legal concerns surrounding gender transition. Superintendent Richard Stutzman said he hoped all these discussions will keep the issue from being a distraction in the classroom or at school functions. He told AP, "The kids are my biggest concern right now. I want to make sure that we truly address the needs of our students."

Point: Don't Marry Career Women

How do women, careers and marriage mix? Not well, say social scientists.

Guys: A word of advice. Marry pretty women or ugly ones. Short ones or tall ones. Blondes or brunettes. Just, whatever you do, don't marry a woman with a career.

Why? Because if many social scientists are to be believed, you run a higher risk of having a rocky marriage. While everyone knows that marriage can be stressful, recent studies have found professional women are more likely to get divorced, more likely to cheat, less likely to have children, and, if they do have kids, they are more likely to be unhappy about it. A recent study in Social Forces, a research journal, found that women--even those with a "feminist" outlook--are happier when their husband is the primary breadwinner.

Not a happy conclusion, especially given that many men, particularly successful men, are attracted to women with similar goals and aspirations. And why not? After all, your typical career girl is well-educated, ambitious, informed and engaged. All seemingly good things, right? Sure…at least until you get married. Harris' comments draw fierce reaction

Political and religious officials criticize the candidate's comments on electing Christians.

U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris said this week that God did not intend for the United States to be a "nation of secular laws" and that a failure to elect Christians to political office will allow lawmaking bodies to "legislate sin."

The remarks, published in the weekly journal of the Florida Baptist State Convention, unleashed a torrent of criticism from political and religious officials.

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Weston, said she was "disgusted" by the comments "and deeply disappointed in Rep. Harris personally."

Harris, Wasserman Schultz said, "clearly shows that she does not deserve to be a representative. . . ."

State Rep. Irv Slosberg, D-Boca Raton, demanded an apology, saying the statements were "outrageous, even by her standards."

"What is going through this woman's mind?" said Slosberg who, like Wasserman Schultz, is Jewish. "We do not live in a theocracy."

I didn't think it was possible for her approval ratings to go any lower, I was wrong! Why should she apologize? What ever happened to being entitled to your opinion?

On the August 23 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio program, Rush Limbaugh suggested that the competition in a new season of CBS' reality TV program Survivor, in which contestants are reportedly divided into competing "tribes" by ethnicity, "is not going to be fair if there's a lot of water events." In support of this assertion, he cited a March 2 HealthDay article reporting that "young blacks -- especially males -- are much more likely to drown in pools than whites." Border Agents Face Prison For Securing Border

The next time you hear a Member of Congress speak about so-called "comprehensive immigration reform," remember the story of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.

Ramos and Compean are U.S. Border Patrol agents who are facing 20 years in prison for attempting to apprehend an illegal alien -- who was also smuggling drugs -- at the border.

Hard to believe, but it's true! Consider this account of the incident from the Internet magazine WorldNetDaily.com:

"When Border Patrol Agent Ignacio Ramos pulled the trigger last February, all he knew was that his partner was lying on the ground behind him -- bloodied from a struggle with a fleeing suspect -- shots had been fired and now, it appeared, the drug smuggler he was pursuing had turned toward him with what looked to be a gun in his hand...

"Ramos, 37, is an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserve and a former nominee for Border Patrol Agent of the Year.

"On February 17, he responded to a request for back up from agent Jose Alonso Compean, 28, who noticed a suspicious van near the levee road along the Rio Grande River near the Texas town of Fabens, about 40 miles east of El Paso...

"Behind the wheel of the van was an illegal alien, Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila of Mexico. Unknown to the growing number of Border Patrol agents converging on Fabens, Aldrete-Davila's van was carrying 800 pounds of marijuana.

"Unable to outrun Ramos and the third agent, Aldrete-Davila stopped the van on the levee, jumped out and started running toward the river. When he reached the other side of the levee, he was met by Compean who had anticipated the smuggler's attempt to get back to Mexico.

"'We both yelled out for him to stop, but he wouldn't stop, and he just kept running,' Ramos told California's Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. Aldrete-Davila crossed a canal.

"'At some point during the time where I'm crossing the canal, I hear shots being fired,' Ramos said. 'Later, I see Compean on the ground, but I keep running after the smuggler.'

"At that point, Ramos said, Aldrete-Davila turned toward him, pointing what looked like a gun.

"'I shot,' Ramos said. 'But I didn't think he was hit, because he kept running into the brush and then disappeared into it. Later, we all watched as he jumped into a van waiting for him. He seemed fine. It didn't look like he had been hit at all.'"

But that wasn't the end of the story! Two weeks later, a Border Patrol Agent received a call from the drug smuggler's mother-in-law in Mexico who claimed that Ramos had actually shot the drug smuggler in the buttocks.

And our own government filed charges against Ramos and Compean for violating the civil rights of this illegal aliens and felon.

In the words of U.S. Assistant District Attorney Debra Kanof, "The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled it is a violation of someone's Fourth Amendment rights to shoot them in the back while fleeing if you don't know who they are and/or if you don't know they have a weapon."

That's not all. Not only did our government give immunity to this drug smuggler to obtain his testimony at the trial, but this illegal alien and drug smuggler is now suing Ramos for $5 million dollars.

Robyn Shelton of the Orlando Sentinel called Pendergraft today to find out if they were indeed scheduling killings at Orlando Women's Center for next week. Marti MacKenzie (Pendergraft's PR spokeswoman) freely admitted that they ARE MAKING ABORTION APPOINTMENTS for next week because their attorneys have filed something asking for P's license to be released from suspension. Evidently they have utmost confidence that they will win this appeal in short order. I hope and pray to God that isn't true. I pray that the Health Department, the Agency for Health Care Administration and perhaps even the Florida Department of Law Enforcement have more than enough evidence to not only take away his license to practice medicine forever, but to convict James Scott Pendergraft of a thousand counts of manslaughter. I want to see justice for Little Mary and Baby Rowan and Carol Howard's daughter (who is permanently and seriously damaged from being delivered pre-maturely because of attempting to abort at OWC). I want to see justice for all the innocent children who were torn apart and dissected while their hearts were beating and all the infants who were delivered alive into Pendergraft's toilets.

DCF Removes Kids After Mother Refuses Rabies Treatment

At issue; Who has the right to determine medical treatment for children, their parents or the state?

WINTER PARK, Fla. -- A bat infestation inside a Winter Park home has led to a showdown in court. Deborah St. Charles has refused to get rabies shots for her and her children after bats invaded her apartment.

Now the Department of Children and Families is trying to force her to get the treatment and, Monday night, they removed her two boys from her home.

St. Charles must appear in court at the juvenile justice center Tuesday afternoon. The state must justify to a judge why DCF felt it was within its legal boundaries to remove St. Charles' kids from her home.

However, since time is of the essence, the state may also take the opportunity to try to explain in detail to St. Charles why she and her children are essentially being forced to take the rabies shots. Read the rest HERE.

Iran Formally Responds To Nuclear Incentives Package

Iran formally responded today (August 22nd) to a package of Western incentives aimed at persuading the country to give up its nuclear program. Early details about the contents of Iran's response were vague, but officials said it offered a, quote, "new formula" to resolve the dispute over the program, with Tehran's top nuclear negotiator saying the response opened the door for serious negotiations to resume.

The response was hand-delivered to ambassadors from England, Russia, China, France, Germany and Switzerland. The latter nation represented the U.S., which has no embassy or official diplomatic relations with Iran. The package was offered to Iran in June in order to halt the country's uranium enrichment program. Tehran has said that the program is peaceful and geared only toward generating power, while the U.S. has suspected that it's being used to develop nuclear weapons.

Before issuing the formal response, Iran showed little signs of giving up the program. On Monday (August 21st), its top religious leader declared that the country would continue its nuclear activities as it turned away International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors from an underground uranium enrichment site. It was not clear whether the new Iranian response addressed the enrichment program, which the West has said it must halt as part of the incentives package.

If Iran does not suspend the enrichment program, it faces possible sanctions from the U.N. Security Council, although the Council's five permanent members -- China, Russia, France, England and the U.S. -- differ on how far those sanctions could go. Iran has said that sanctions are illegal and that only talks will resolve the issue. The U.S. ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, said that the United States would, quote, "study the Iranian response carefully."

Talk about anti-climatic.

Dick Batchelor stops by to discuss LUV

Business and civic leaders have decided to throw their collective will (and wallets) behind an intense lobbying effort -- one that could hit your mailbox and the airwaves this week.

And part of what makes this thing unique is that there's no candidate involved. Instead, these folks are united in their belief that Orange County needs an elected chairman to provide buck-stops-here leadership for its oft-struggling schools.

So they are prepared to spend as much as $40,000 on radio ads and 20,000 mailers -- all designed to get residents to ramp up the pressure on current school officials, who have been less enthusiastic about the new position.

"The whole idea behind this," said organizer Dick Batchelor, "is to say to the School Board: Let us vote."

That is, in fact, the name of this political committee: Let Us Vote. . . or LUV.

That part's brilliant. I mean, you have to love LUV, right? Otherwise, you're hating LUV. And that sounds like something only a terrorist would do.

But Batchelor isn't fighting terrorists. He's up against the School Board.

Some board members dislike the idea. Joie Cadle, for instance, has argued that a countywide chairman would need so much campaign money to get into office that he or she would be beholden to special interests and would simply add a new layer of bureaucracy. "This is not a silver bullet," she said Monday.

Still, Cadle said she would be in favor of letting residents make that decision -- just not yet. Instead, she wants to wait until 2008, when the issue has been more thoroughly vetted. "I would be derelict in my duties to block people from voting on this," she said. "But we need to do it right."

The School Board votes tonight on whether this should be on the fall ballot.

Bush Says Iraq 'Straining the Psyche' of America, But Insists U.S. Forces Won't Leave

President Bush said yesterday (August 21st) that he understands Americans' concern about the Iraq war, but that it would be a disaster to leave now. Speaking during an hour-long news conference, Bush said, "These are challenging times, and they're difficult times, and they're straining the psyche of our country. I understand that." But he insisted pulling out now would be disastrous, with a failed Iraq providing a safe haven for terrorists who'd get revenue from oil sales. He declared forcefully, "We're not leaving, so long as I'm the president. That would be a huge mistake."

Bush injected some partisanship into his remarks, less than three months before the midterm elections, saying that many Democrats want to leave Iraq, quote, "before the job is done." But, he said, "If we ever give up the desire to help people who live in freedom, we will have lost our soul as a nation, as far as I'm concerned." Bush also criticized the Democrats on national security and the economy, saying they should be the top issues for Republicans campaigning ahead of the elections this fall.

I feel violated! I feel like I signed what I thought was a 3 year lease agreement for a new car only to find out it was a 7 year lease with a massive balloon payment at the end. What ever happened to we'll leave once their security forces or police forces are fully trained? Prior to the sectarian violence in Baghdad I really thought we would start bringing troops home in Dec/Jan. Now it looks like we signed up for the Korea deal.

Pat Buchanan Declares 'State of Emergency' Over Illegal Immigration

Pat Buchanan has a new book out this week called State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America, in which he sounds a warning over illegal immigration. The Drudge Report website describes the book, quoting Buchanan as writing, "The children born in 2006 will witness in their lifetimes the death of the West." Drudge cites items from Buchanan's book, including: one in every 12 illegal immigrants has a criminal record; between 10 and 20 percent of all Mexicans, Central Americans and Caribbean people have already moved to the U.S.; and the Border Patrol apprehends 150,000 people every month trying to get into the country illegally.

Buchanan charges, according to Drudge, that the Mexican government is consciously using America as a dumping ground for its poor and unemployed, not only to ease social pressures at home, but to carry out a cultural re-annexation of the American Southwest, reconquering land lost in the Mexican-American War. He also contends that both U.S. political parties are paralyzed by guilt over America's past racial sins, and that powerful elites in both the U.S. and Mexico want to merge the two countries into a, quote, "North American Union."

Buchanan proposes a plan, described in the final chapter called "Last Chance," to deal with the problem as he sees it before it's too late. Among the items Drudge cites are:

*Instituting a deportation program, beginning with all illegal aliens convicted of felonies and every gang member who isn't a U.S. citizen.
*A 10-year cap on all legal immigration at 150,000 to 250,000 people a year.
*Construction of a 2,000-mile, double-line security fence along the border with Mexico.

U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris has lost another key staffer in the wake of a disastrous political rally last week.

Rhyan Metzler, who had been Harris' political director, is no longer with the campaign, according to Harris spokeswoman Jennifer Marks. Metzler is the staffer that is being blamed for embarrassing comments Harris made following a rally at Orlando Executive Airport.

Only 40 people showed up for the event -- a number that includes Harris staff and media -- and Harris blamed the paltry turnout in part on a last-minute location change. She said a tree fell on the hangar that the rally was scheduled to be in forcing her campaign to switch to another hangar.

Airport officials, however, said no trees had fallen and that Harris was in the hangar her campaign had originally booked.

Marks would not discuss Metzler's departure saying, "We're not going into the details of a personnel issue." Harris' campaign has been plagued by massive staff turnover. The Longboat Key Republican is now on her fourth campaign manager and third communications director.

Jeb Bush-backed rail deal:$491 million for NAFTA

A $491 million public-financing deal promoted by Florida Gov. Jeb Bush as a boon to commuters actually paves the way for shipping more cheap goods from China to the North American marketplace, charges a whistleblower.

Ex-CSX Transportation employee Dave Nelson told WND the deal in Florida amounts to providing CSXT with a public subsidy. Money from the public purse will position the railroad company as a major freight carrier throughout Florida, transporting cargo containers filled with cheap goods coming into the NAFTA marketplace from China.

CSXT is positioned to receive millions in the deal. Under the terms of the agreement, the state of Florida will invest $318 "in partnership with CSXT" to improve the infrastructure and expand capacity on existing train tracks. According to CSXT, the breakdown of how the Florida subsidy will be spent is specified as follows:

$198 million for projects on the CSXT rail line between Baldwin to Plant City, referred to as the "S" line;
$ 59 million to build five road overpasses in Alachua, Sumter and Marion counties on this line;
$ 52 million on other CSXT rail lines around the state; and
$ 9 million to build access roads to the new Integrated Logistics Center in Winter Haven – the mother of all rail yards – which will be built by CSXT

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A private review panel, meant to keep Orange County deputies in check, was under fire Friday for being too critical and the Orange County Sheriff's Office is so upset with them, it filed a lawsuit.

Atty. Richard Dellinger, who sits on Orange County's Citizen's Review Board, joined me this morning on-air with his reaction.

Suspect Arrested in Decade-Old Murder of JonBenet Ramsey

A 41-year-old American man was arrested in Thailand Wednesday (August 16th) as a suspect in the murder of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey nearly a decade ago in Boulder, Colorado. John Mark Karr, a former elementary school teacher, was taken into custody in his Bangkok apartment, and the Associated Press cited a source as saying that he'd confessed to elements of the crime. Boulder District Attorney Mary Lacy said that the surprise arrest came after several months of work, and AP cited a law enforcement source as saying Karr had been communicating online periodically with somebody in Boulder who'd been following the case and cooperating with law enforcement. U.S. officials are expected to bring Karr back to the U.S. in the next few days, and more details are expected to be released in a press conference today.

Ramsey family attorney Lin Wood said that the arrest vindicated JonBenet's parents, who investigators at one point had famously said were under a, quote, "umbrella of suspicion." Although a grand jury failed to indict them, and a federal judge in 2003 said that the evidence showed an intruder had killed the little girl, many people across the country still believed the Ramseys were guilty. Wood yesterday accused the media of putting out, quote, "the most obscene false accusations," and called it a, quote, "story of an American injustice and tragedy that ultimately people will have to look back on and hopefully learn from." JonBenet's mother, Patsy Ramsey, died this past June of ovarian cancer, but had apparently been told about the suspect and that police were close to making an arrest before she died.

Wood said the Ramseys had given police information about Karr before he was identified as a suspect, but wouldn't say how the Ramseys knew him. MSNBC reported that Karr had lived in Boulder at the time of JonBenet's murder in December 1996. Lawrence Schiller, who wrote a 1999 book about the case called Perfect Murder, Perfect Town, said yesterday that he understood Karr had been on a list of sexual offenders who were suspects for a long time.

My gut reaction is this guy didn't do it, he's a wanna-be. I laid out my case on-air.

State bars abortions at 2 clinics in Orlando

Dr. James Pendergraft's license is suspended on allegations he did illegal 3rd-trimester procedures.

The state has ordered two Orlando clinics to stop doing abortions indefinitely and suspended the medical license of their owner, Dr. James Pendergraft, on grounds that he illegally performed third-trimester abortions.The restrictions began last week at one Orlando location, and by Wednesday, all five of Pendergraft's offices statewide had been ordered to stop providing abortions.

*We also learned that 10,000 abortions per year are performed in Orlando.

*The 3rd trimester abortion in this case cost $12,000 that's cash up front.

Bush Backs Israel's Claim of Victory Over Hezbollah, Which Declares They Were the Winners

President Bush said yesterday (August 14th) that Israel had defeated Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon, backing Israel's claim of victory, while at the same time Hezbollah's leader said they were the real winners of the month-long war. Bush also said that Hezbollah, which sparked the crisis when it abducted two Israeli soldiers, was to blame for the deaths of hundreds of Lebanese civilians in Israeli airstrikes.

Speaking after a United Nations-brokered ceasefire took effect early in the day, Bush said, "Hezbollah attacked Israel. Hezbollah started the crisis, and Hezbollah suffered a defeat in this crisis." He echoed Israel's contention that it had eliminated the, quote, "state within a state" run by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, and in response to Hezbollah claims that they'd won, said the militant group has a, quote, "fantastic propaganda machine." Bush also criticized Iran and Syria for backing Hezbollah, and portrayed the war as part of a broader struggle between freedom and terrorism.

On the other side, Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah declared a, quote, "strategic and historic victory," saying in a televised statement, "We emerged from the battle with out heads high, and our enemy is the one who is defeated." In response to comments from several Lebanese politicians that Hezbollah should disarm, Nasrallah said it was the wrong time to talk about the issue. He also said Hezbollah would start repairing bomb-damaged homes in Lebanon, and would pay a year's rent and other costs to help the owners of about 15,000 destroyed homes.

Sorry George, you're all wet on this one! Don't lie to me! This was a draw at best. Hezbollah took on one of the most powerful armies on the planet and survived to fight another day. Israel didn't get what they wanted, their two soldiers back. Hezbollah has time to regroup and rearm. How can anyone see that as a victory for Israel? The US needs to get out of the way and let Israel crush the beast once and for all!

Study: Immigration Not Affecting American Workers

The increases in immigration in recent years have not hurt job prospects for American workers, according to a study released on Thursday (August 10th).

The Pew Hispanic Center studied census data on the increase in immigrants between 1990 and 2004 for each state, matched those figures with employment rates and found "no apparent relationship between the growth of foreign workers... and the employment outcome of native workers with the same... level of education." Rakesh Kochhar, author of the study, states that other factors including economic growth, play a bigger role in determining the job market for Americans. However, Steven Camarota, director of research for the Center for Immigration Studies, offers research showing that young workers with little education do lose out on jobs because of competition from immigrants. This new information will add to the debate over immigration, and the claim that immigrants "take jobs Americans won't" which has become a central theme in the upcoming mid-term elections.

A federal judge in California has ordered personal items seized in 1996 from Unabomber Ted Kaczynski's Montana cabin to be sold online. The auction will include books, tools, clothing and two checkbooks. Excluded, however, are 100 items the government considers to be bomb-making materials, such as writings that contain diagrams and "recipes" for bombs. The majority of the proceeds will go toward restitution to Kaczynski’s victims.

The Power Of God

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL ... I read it on air this morning. There wasn't a dry eye in Orlando.

Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: "How is my little boy? Is he going to be allright? When can I see him?"

The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it."
Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?"

The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university."

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.
"Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked.
Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the university for study. He said it might help somebody else. "I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom." She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could."

Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult.It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep. It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:

Dear Mom,
I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVEYOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuffto play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probablywouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls andstuff girls like, you know. Don't be sad thinking about me. This really isa neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. AND, you know what? Jesus doesn'tlook like any of his pictures Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what! , Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him thatI wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper andHis own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the nameof the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for meto give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' "God said He was in the same place with me, as when Hisson Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I haveto give God His pen back now . He needs it to write some more names in theBook of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm,sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is allgone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn'tstand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel ofMercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

It started with Republican Elizabeth Doran going on Pat Campbell's show on 540 AM (WFLA). Doran took off the gloves, accusing Keller of reneging on his "family values" platform by divorcing his wife and marrying an aide. Said Doran: "When you run on a platform, you'd better stay with that platform." Ouch.

Does Sheriff Beary owe the Hispanic community an apology?

Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary issued an apology Friday for comments made after announcing the death of Deputy Callin.

Beary's comments sparked outrage throughout the Hispanic community, inundating local Spanish-speaking radio stations with complaints

Earlier this week, Beary sent an apology letter to Spanish-language newspaper El Nuevo Dia for his comments Wednesday night.

"I'm irritated with the federal government right now, because in both cases these individuals who killed the cops in Central Florida are illegal aliens,” Beary said. “I'm tired of the rhetoric. I'm tired of nothing being done, and something needs to be done because with the violence, our quality of life is going down in Central Florida. And if we don't take it back and start doing something and the government has to make the first move. We're going to be in a world of hurt. I'm not picking on anybody. I'm all for legal immigration, always support it. I swore an oath to it. The bottom line is simple. If they're illegal, we've got to do something and change the way we do business because it's bullcrap."

The letter, in part, reads "I apologize to everyone in Central Florida...I did not intend to infer that all illegal residents are violent offenders. I want to make one thing perfectly clear; there is no single segment of this community who is responsible for crime."

Beary doesn't owe anyone an apology. The 1 million plus illegal aliens in Florida owe Beary and law enforcement a huge apology. I'd like an investigative journalist to find out if any segment of our community is disproportionately responsible for crime in Central Florida. Wouldn't that be an eye opener?

1) A worldwide study showed that the average cost of rail construction exceeds projections by over 40 percent.
2) Usage is always far less than expected, and is mainly confined to 4 hours per day, 5 days per week.
3) Light rail is by far the most expensive method per passenger mile of moving people; nothing else even comes close.
4) Commuter rail uses more energy per passenger than a bus, or even an efficient car.

Democratic congressional candidate Alan Grayson, who's making the radio rounds as part of his campaign to oust Ric Keller, has taken aim -- right at Keller's head.

During an interview with 540 AM's Pat Campbell last week, Grayson talked primarily about serious issues. But the segment that seemed to most perk up Campbell's ears was rather, well, hair-raising.

Said Grayson: "The question is: What about Ric Keller's hair? That's what's on people's minds. I mean, it's not a very good hairpiece. The man makes $168,000 a year, and he can't afford a decent hairpiece. And if you're lying about your hair, what else are you lying about? That's what voters want to know."

Yikes. If there's a saving grace for Keller, it's that the liberal Grayson's lines about Keller's hair didn't go over any better with 540's conservative callers than the actual planks of his campaign.

Keller later responded: "I'm a humble, modest-looking guy who'll take all the help I can get."

Nice response. In fact, Keller first endeared himself to voters in 2000 as an underdog with a self-deprecating sense of humor -- something missing in recent years. Maybe, with a tougher election cycle in bloom, we'll see it resurface.

I couldn't figure out why Mel would just arbitrarily go off on Jews. This gives the comments context. However, it doesn't excuse them. Don't you think this is an important detail the MSM left out of the story? Isn't it ironic that the real story of Anti-Semitism remains buried?

OPD officer cleared in traffic stop of Lynum's son

According to the Sentinel...

The Orlando Police Department's internal-affairs division Tuesday cleared Officer Matthew Ochiuzzo of racial-profiling charges filed by Juan Lynum, who was stopped in the early-morning hours of May 6 while driving through the Parramore area.

"Everything the officer did was textbook," said Dwain L. Rivers, manager of internal affairs. "There was no evidence of racial profiling."

Now that the officer's been cleared will the Lynums apologize? I've offered them a forum.
