Lake Howell coach faces sex charges

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting...

Just a week after a Lake Howell High School football player was killed in a traffic accident, the school was hit with more bad news: Head football coach Edward Norton was arrested Friday, accused of having sex with a student and taking nude photos of her.

The girl later told investigators she had had a consensual sexual relationship with Norton since May. She said they had intercourse more than 10 times and participated in other sexual activities, according to the arrest report.

School Superintendent Bill Vogel on Friday suspended Norton with pay, but said he would ask the School Board to suspend him without pay when it meets Tuesday. A school investigation should be complete in a week to 10 days, Vogel said, and at that time he will recommend whether to fire Norton.

Vogel said Norton admitted having sex with the girl and taking photos of her.
A couple of questions here. Does this guy deserve to go to jail for a consensual relationship? Should he be labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life? What do you have to do to get fired from the Seminole County School District, kill somebody?

Attention ICE: Why Was $80,000 Cash Headed to Pakistan?

Check out Debbie Schlussel's blog...

Everyone's up in arms about a TSA screener who stole $80,000 cash from a bag headed to Pakistan at JFK Airport. But the real question is: Why is a passenger taking $80,000 in cash with him to Pakistan (and didn't declare it, either)? Funding terrorist operations? Money laundering? Whatever the purpose was, it's not likely kosher (or is that, halal?).

But don't worry. They are charging the TSA employee--and NOT pursuing the passenger. Don't you feel safe? More HERE.

Archdiocesan agency helps homosexuals adopt children

The Boston Globe is reporting...

BOSTON --The social services agency of the Archdiocese of Boston has allowed 13 foster children to be adopted by same-sex couples in the past two decades, despite Vatican teachings against homosexuality.

Leaders of Catholic Charities of Boston said state regulations prohibit the agency from discriminating based on sexual orientation.

"If we could design the system ourselves, we would not participate in adoptions to gay couples, but we can't," the Rev. J. Bryan Hehir, the agency's president, told The Boston Globe in Saturday's editions. "We have to balance various goods."

The 13 adoptions -- a small fraction of the 720 placed by Catholic Charities in that period -- took place as part of a contract with the state Department of Social Services. The children placed with gay couples are among the most difficult to place, either because they are older or have physical or emotional problems.

Hehir said if they excluded gay couples, they wouldn't be able to help the hundreds of foster children that went to heterosexual couples.
Why would a Catholic agency participate in something that is clearly in conflict with Church teaching?

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church...

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity [1], tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered [2].” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstance can they be approved.

Professor: Exterminate white people

WND is reporting...

Seen as solution to problems faced by many blacks

A visiting professor at North Carolina State University says the solution to the problems faced by many blacks is the extermination of "white people off the face of the planet."
Kamau Kambon

Kamau Kambon, who taught Africana Studies at the Raleigh school last spring, told a panel at Howard University Law School Oct. 14 this action must be taken "because white people want to kill us," the Carolina Journal reported.

Kambon, a Raleigh activist and bookstore owner, was addressing a panel on "Hurricane Katrina Media Coverage," broadcast on C-SPAN.

U.S. Tries to Limit Damage From Taliban Body Burning Allegation

Remember what these bastards did to us!

And this is a problem because?

The U.S. was trying to limit damage Thursday (October 20th) from an Australian TV report that said American soldiers in Afghanistan burned the bodies of two Taliban fighters and used the incident to taunt other Taliban. The State Department said it had instructed its embassies around the world to tell local governments that the alleged abuse didn't reflect American values while spokesman Sean McCormack called the allegation, quote, "very serious" and "very troubling." Meanwhile, the military said the Army Criminal Investigation Command was looking into the incident, which the operational commander in Afghanistan called, quote, "repugnant." The U.S. is trying to avoid the kind of anti-American outcry in the Muslim world that took place in May after a Newsweek report that U.S. soldiers at Guantanamo Bay had desecrated the Koran.

After hearing the allegation, Islamic clerics expressed outrage and Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the incident and ordered an inquiry by the Afghan Defense Ministry. Australian TV broadcast the video taken by a journalist embedded with the troops that showed them burning the two bodies. The journalist, Stephen Dupont, said the soldiers told him they were doing it for hygienic reasons, because the bodies had been there for a day. Cremation, however, is banned under Islam, and the bodies were reportedly faced west, towards Mecca, as an insult. Then, according to Dupont, a U.S. psychological unit later broadcast taunting messages to a nearby village believed to be harboring Taliban, calling them cowards who didn't come to get the bodies of their men. Dupont told Australian TV, "They deliberately wanted to incite that much anger from the Taliban so the Taliban could attack them. ... That's the only way they can find them."

These soldiers are totally justified in what they did and I support them 100%. The MSM and Muslim clerics seem highly selective and very inconsistent with their outrage.

Ms. Underestimated writes...

I am personally outraged BY the outrage that is coming out about this! These bastards would sooner kill you and me, and everybody else who is a non-Islam-believing infidel! Where was the media outrage when the American contractors were not only slaughtered, but were tortured, dismemebered, THEN burned and hung in a sick, twisted effigy from a bridge in Falljuah! Did you forget about that? I damn sure didn't, but the MSM not only forgot about it, but they didn't even give it any damn thought in the first place!

Thursday Morning

7:00AM The Good News From Iraq

7:35AM Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty on Hurricane Wilma

8:05AM Dick Morris in studio

CONDI VS. HILLARY
The Next Great Presidential Race

New York, NY – Emblazoned with bitterness and resulting in a country more divided than ever before, the 2004 presidential race will go down in history as one of America’s most significant political battles. But the political landscape left in the wake of the 2004 election and the waning support for President Bush in his second term has left the door wide open for what could prove to be an even greater battle in 2008.

In his new book, CONDI VS. HILLARY: The Next Great Presidential Race [ReganBooks – October 11, 2005] Dick Morris examines one of the scenarios that could lie in store for the 2008 presidential race – Republican Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice against Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton.

Morris’ latest work analyzes the likelihood of the match-up and clearly acknowledges the political prowess of both perspective candidates. Senator Clinton is obviously positioning herself as a moderate in anticipation for 2008, and Condoleezza Rice’s popularity within the Republican Party and her knowledge and success within the international community makes a compelling argument for her candidacy.

As Morris points out, both prospective candidates are well positioned to seek and win their party’s nominations and “as both are emerging as their party’s charismatic heroines they seem fated to meet on the grand stage of presidential politics.”

Condi vs. Hillary is the first in-depth look at the next fight for the presidency from one of the most brilliant political minds in modern American history. Timed to coincide with the political maneuvering that traditionally precedes election season, it is sure to become the definitive prelude to what is expected to be a war for The White House.

As one of former President Bill Clinton’s senior advisors, Dick Morris is almost universally credited with piloting Clinton to a stunning comeback re-election victory in 1996 and has managed dozens of other successful political campaigns. He is a nationally syndicated columnist and a regular contributor for Fox News Channel. Condi vs. Hilary is Dick Morris’ 8th book. His other works include “Rewriting History,” “Because He Could,” “Power Plays,” “Behind the Oval Office,” among others.

Motorcyclist found guilty in trooper's death

Local6 is reporting...

A motorcyclist, whose race with a sports car on Interstate 4 led to a Florida Highway Patrol trooper's fatal crash, was convicted of aggravated manslaughter by a jury on Tuesday.

Donald Williams was also convicted of vehicular homicide and fleeing and eluding a law-enforcement officer in causing the death of 49-year-old Trooper Darryl Haywood on Oct. 2, 2004.

Donald Williams is a bad man he deserves to go to jail for excessive speeding, fleeing law enforcement an a host of other safety related charges. The thing I'm having trouble with is the aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide charges. Williams didn't kill Trooper Haywood. He didn't run him off the road. A tire blow out at high speeds caused the trooper's car to crash. How do you hold Williams responsible for the actions of the officer? Trooper Haywood made a conscious decision to pursue the motorcycle in clear violation of his own departments pursuit policy. The only time the FHP can give pursuit is in a case involving a forcible felony. Trooper Haywood made a bad judgment call he put himself and fellow motorist at risk, sadly it cost him his life. The better option was to let a helicopter follow the cyclist. These charges fly in the face of personal responsibility how do you hold one man responsible for the decision and actions of another?

Many Rioters Were From Detroit

Our sister station 1370AM WSPD in Toledo, OH is reporting...

Several of the 114 persons arrested during Saturday's rioting on the north side were from Detroit gangs who came to Toledo to cause trouble, and they were in court, charged with a series of offenses, including aggravated rioting and assaulting police Monday morning. Members of the Nazi delegation were not arrested because they left the city after their march against black gangs was cancelled, after being told they would be arrested if they did not get out of town. Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarre says if the Nazi party trys to return to Toledo for a march or demonstration it will be on the cities terms. Navarre says the city will go to court to prevent the party from demonstating in a neighborhood and his officers had no choice but to arrest persons who broke the law in their presence Saturday , many of them by assaulting the officers.

I'll be joined by Luke Shockman of the Toledo Blade to talk about the riot. Also, latter in the program Fred Lefebvre afternoon talk show host at WSPD joins me to share local reaction.

Miers friends say she'll overturn Roe

Check out the Editorial in WSJ today...

Judgment Call
Did Christian conservatives receive assurances that Miers would oppose Roe v. Wade?

It might, however, have been part of another discussion. On Oct. 3, the day the Miers nomination was announced, Mr. Dobson and other religious conservatives held a conference call to discuss the nomination. One of the people on the call took extensive notes, which I have obtained. According to the notes, two of Ms. Miers's close friends--both sitting judges--said during the call that she would vote to overturn Roe.

The call was moderated by the Rev. Donald Wildmon of the American Family Association. Participating were 13 members of the executive committee of the Arlington Group, an umbrella alliance of 60 religious conservative groups, including Gary Bauer of American Values, Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, Paul Weyrich of the Free Congress Foundation and the Rev. Bill Owens, a black minister. Also on the call were Justice Nathan Hecht of the Texas Supreme Court and Judge Ed Kinkeade, a Dallas-based federal trial judge.

What followed, according to the notes, was a free-wheeling discussion about many topics, including same-sex marriage. Justice Hecht said he had never discussed that issue with Ms. Miers. Then an unidentified voice asked the two men, "Based on your personal knowledge of her, if she had the opportunity, do you believe she would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade?"

"Absolutely," said Judge Kinkeade.

"I agree with that," said Justice Hecht. "I concur."

"The material world. The physical world. The world of illusion, that we think is real. We live for it, we're enslaved by it. And it will ultimately be our undoing," Madonna explains in her new documentary film, I'M GOING TO TELL YOU A SECRET.

In the movie, which will premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City on Tuesday, Madonna warns how people "are going to go to hell, if they don't turn from their wicked behavior."

The singer, who is also promoting the upcoming release of her new music CD, declares: "Most priests are gay."

"I refer to an entity called 'The Beast'. I feel I am describing the world that we live in right now. To me 'The Beast' is the modern world that we live in."

Islamic extremists attack Catholics reciting rosary

The attack took place on 11 October in a private house. Armed men broke in and threatened to burn the place down if the prayer went ahead. Fears are rising about further violence against Indonesian believers.

Jakarta (AsiaNews) – A group composed of Islamic extremists attacked Catholics praying the rosary on 11 October and threatened to burn down the house they were gathered in. All Hell Breaks Loose In Toledo, Ohio.

Protesters Riot Cancelling Nazi March
Mayor Jack Ford declared a State of Emergency in Toledo and issued an 8 p.m. curfew for the entire city. Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarre says no arrests will be made with out warning. Citizens may travel by vehicle.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - A crowd that gathered to protest a planned march Saturday by a white supremacist group turned violent, throwing baseball-sized rocks at police vandalizing vehicles and businesses.
Authorities blamed rioters for setting a neighborhood bar on fire and destroying a gas station and numerous vehicles. Police prepared to forcibly remove a crowd of several hundred people around mid-afternoon after the mayor and a local minister unsuccessfully negotiated with residents.

"There's going to be problems. Some of you are going to get hurt when we go in to make arrests. This has a real potential for a lot of bloodshed," Police Chief Mike Navarre told a large group of officers, part of the 150 who were deployed to provide security for the march.

Authorities called off the march just as it was to begin at noon. Officers in helicopters and cruisers and on foot, bicycles and horses continued to chase bands of youths throughout the afternoon. Officers wearing gas masks fired tear gas canisters and flash-bang devices designed to stun suspects, only to see the groups reappear nearby and resume throwing rocks and bottles.

Navarre said officers had a report of a man shot in the area, but they had not found a victim or a gunman. No other injuries had been reported, Navarre said.

At least two dozen members of the National Socialist Movement, which calls itself "America's Nazi Party," gathered at a city park just before noon and were to march under police protection. Organizers of the march said they were demonstrating against black gangs that they said were harassing white residents in the neighborhood.

Violence broke out about one-quarter of a mile away from the park along the planned one-mile route.

Thomas Frisch, 76, said a large group of men destroyed the exterior of a gas station next to his home of 30 years.

"A whole big gang started to come in here. Next thing you know, they're jumping on the car. Then they overturned it. Then they started on the building, breaking windows, ripping the bars off," he said.

Keith White, a black resident, criticized city officials for initially allowing the march.

"They let them come here and expect this not to happen?" said White, 29.
Nazis claimed they were there to bring attention to the city's growning gang problem. The city claimed there was no problem. Gangs come out in force to prove the city wrong.

Live aerial video of the disturbance HERE.

Check out this account in the Toledo Blade...
Mayor Ford said those protesting were mainly male gang members in their 20s. He said the protests were not triggered by race relations but by gang members with grievances.

Homosexual arrested for 'hate crime' arson

Allegedly writes 'Die Fag' on partner's mobile home before igniting it

A Lakeland fire investigator charged Christopher Michael Robertson, 23, in an arson that destroyed the Lakeland mobile home of Robertson and his partner Paul Day.

Robertson, who is in Polk County Jail on an unrelated charge, was charged Wednesdsay with one count of arson, burning to defraud an insurer, two counts of false and fradulent insurance claims and making a false report to a law enforcement officer, according to the Lakeland Fire Department.

The July 25 fire gutted the gay couple's mobile home at Kings Manor Mobile Home Park.

Several valuables were stolen - including a TV and a laptop computer - and ``Die Fag'' was spray-painted on the front steps of the home, the couple told Lakeland firefighters, making the fire seem like a hate crime.

The 23-year-old confessed to the arson, saying he wanted insurance money from the mobile home, said Lakeland fire spokeswoman Cheryl Edwards.

Caught in the act. Two weeks after the murder of Matthew Shepard, a lesbian student at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota said two men shouted antigay slurs at her and then slashed her face. Outraged students raised nearly $12,000 as a reward for information about her attackers. Then the student confessed she had made up the story and cut her own face. In a similar incident, a lesbian student at Eastern New Mexico University said she had been attacked after her name was included with the names of seven professors on an antigay "hit list" posted at a local laundromat. Police arrested her after a surveillance camera at the laundromat showed her posting the list.
Fake Hate Crime Charges Cast Doubt On Need For Federal Legislation

Washington, DC - A clever propagandist frequently creates a non-existent "crisis" in order to promote his political agenda. The goal is to gain sympathy for his cause by positioning himself as a "victim" of an oppressive society. The victim can then claim that the government must pass laws to protect his alleged "victim class" from "hate."

Ralph Waldo Emerson had some good advice for homosexual propagandists. On the issue of lying, he wrote, "Every violation of truth is not only a sort of suicide in the liar, but is a stab at the health of human society." Amen.

Big 12 ramps up security after OU 'suicide' blast

Despite claims incident was isolated with no connection to radical Islam

Despite reported claims the suicide bomber who killed himself outside a packed football stadium at Oklahoma University was an anomaly with no ties to radical Islam, the Big 12 Conference announced it is bolstering stadium security this weekend.

Noting the plan to ramp up security, Islam terror-watcher Robert Spencer asked, "If [Hinrichs] was just a lone nut with a random target, and the local Muslims saw nothing and know nothing, why tighten security at the stadiums?"

The Latest Tool In The War On Terror

Packaging Terror Prevention

Would-be-terrorists: Take heed! Our strategically placed products eliminate the possibility of paradise for homicide bombers.

We are not helpless victims in the global war against terror. The Islamic "Law of Jihad" dictates that Muslim terrorists defiled by pig's blood will not enter paradise. Duly noting this irrefutable law of the Jihad, Susblood Labs has developed a patent pending, product line that combines cryogenically frozen porcine plasma, and other ingredients, that will stop would-be terrorists dead in their tracks.

Although modern Muslim’s reject these false teachings, the "Wahhabist’s of Jihad" are motivated to commit their homicide bombings with the promise of immediate paradise and 72 virgin companions for eternity. However, their strict ancient doctrine also promises that their souls are damned should their flesh come in contact with pig’s blood at the time of their death. A Muslim Jihadist's body interred with even the slightest tainting of pig's blood, will never be resurrected; and subsequently, unqualified for paradise.

Our development team cleverly calculated that the combination of utility and mobility represented by our extra-ordinary ballpoint writing pen is the ideal methodology for inexpensively deploying our patent pending terror prevention Suidae Formula© to every potential terrorist target across the world. SusbloodLabs, LLC Infidel's Revenge© Pens contain the same safe, non-toxic ingredients as our industrial strength terror prevention products AND are packaged to send a meaningful visual reminder to would be suicide-terrorists. Now everyone can have terror prevention technology at the tip of their fingers.

In the event of a terrorist explosion the components in the pens' chambers combust, combine and vaporize. The result is a fine atomized mist of fully active, reconstituted porcine plasma permeating the entire scene; defiling the flesh and soul of the suicide bomber; paradise lost for terrorists and incentive eliminated for would-be-terrorists. Our products are safe, non-toxic and do not affect the eternity of infidels in any way shape or form.

Another Faked Hate Crime! Anyone surprised?

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting...

Officials say story of Polk fire a lie
A gay man confessed to setting his own home ablaze, they say. Some are outraged.

When a gay couple's Lakeland home was torched and a slur spray-painted on their doorstep this summer, outraged sympathizers from coast to coast reached out, offering money, furniture and even free legal assistance.

But when one of the men confessed to setting the fire, hiding items he'd reported stolen and was charged with arson and insurance fraud Wednesday, supporters said they felt betrayed.

"I feel duped. I feel played, and I'm just physically reeling right now," said Kim Steffgen, an Oregon writer who had planned to tell the men's story via a visual arts and writing project with her spouse, artist Gregg Frederickson.

Guaranteed: Miers to withdraw?

Joseph Farah is predicting on WND.

Harriet Miers is never going to be grilled by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

She is going to withdraw her name from consideration before such hearings ever begin.

You can take that to the bank.

Why? Because, even though Democrats in the Senate seem more pleased with the choice of Miers than do Republicans, the questions that must be asked of the nominee for Sandra Day O'Connor's Supreme Court seat would be among the most embarrassing ever raised about her boss, President Bush.

Most of the attention on the nomination so far has focused on her lack of experience, her track record, her opinions on abortion, etc.

But the silver bullet that will do in the nominee is her cozy relationship with Bush – one that likely placed her in a position of covering up scandals in the Texas Lottery to keep secret the preferential treatment the president received as a young man to enter the Texas Air National Guard.

All it will take is a subpoena or two to get the whole sordid story on the public record – in front of a national television audience.

I don't think George W. Bush, already experiencing unfavorable public opinion ratings, will allow that to happen.

Jerome Corsi Co-Author of Unfit For Command joined me this morning with the details of this story. Read about the Texas Lottery Scandal HERE.

Gallup: Americans Now Support Interracial Dating

NEW YORK Americans of a certain age recall vividly when interracial dating was widely frowned on, and even led to the lynching of many black men. Those days have seemingly passed, however, according to a new Gallup Poll.

The results find that Americans of all races accept interracial dating by wide margins, with 95% of younger people (18-29) approving.

Putting these views into action, almost half of all Americans say they have personally dated a person of a different racial/ethnic group, again with younger people in the lead.
Is Interracial Dating O.K. or is it still Taboo in the deep south? Is there any good reason to be opposed to it?

'IT WAS A HOAX' Say what?

New York subway threat a hoax: reports

The subway terrorist threat that gripped New York last weekend was a hoax stemming from false intelligence provided by a normally reliable informant, US law enforcement officials were quoted as saying.

According to newspaper and television reports, the unidentified officials said the informant -- believed to be from Pakistan -- had admitted leading investigators astray about a plot to bomb the New York subway system.

Is Lack Of Big Media Coverage Of Oklahoma Explosion OK?

CBS is reporting...

Has there been more happening at the University of Oklahoma than hazing and all-nighters? The blogosphere, led by Michelle Malkin, has been chronicling the suspicious explosion at the University of Oklahoma just over a week ago, and wondering why the big media doesn’t appear interested.

According to most reports, Joel Hinrichs III was a young man with a history of depression who used a homemade explosive device to commit suicide just 100 yards or so from the school’s football stadium, which was filled with over 80,000 people at the time. Officials were quick to call the incident a suicide, but rumors and reports of Hinrichs’ attempts to buy large quantities of ammonium nitrate and ties to the Muslim community have raised a lot of questions and the answers thus far are not forthcoming.

Many, Malkin included, have wondered where the MSM is on this story. As the Oklahoma Daily editorial notes, local television has covered it and a quick Google search turns up (sometimes conflicting) reports in local and regional newspapers but no major media outlets appear to have picked up the story yet. We asked CBS News national editor Bill Felling, who told us the network is looking into the story. Let’s hope so, it’s one worth airing, whatever the facts

Should Legislators be required to take the FCATs?

Scott Maxwell reports in the Orlando Sentinel...

It's the "Leave No Legislator Behind" act. And if voters approve it, legislators would be forced to take -- and pass -- the same 10th-grade FCATs they require of all high-school students.

"I just think we're seeing too much emphasis on this test," said Dr. Steven Rosenberg, the West Palm Beach dermatologist who's mounting the unfunded and uber-long-shot effort to get this on the ballot.Quite simply, Rosenberg believes many politicians can't do what they ask of high-schoolers.

So how would your politicians fare?

Well, House Majority Leader Andy Gardiner, R-Orlando, said such a proposal would hurt those who are already suffering.

And by that, he meant the Democrats.

"The numbers are 84-36 in the House," Gardiner said. " I'm not sure the Democrats could afford any more losses."

Actually, Rosenberg doesn't think he'd be able to kick them out if they failed -- just make them take it over and over.

Should a Bigger, Stronger Fence Be Built Along the Mexican Border?

A group of border activists are pushing for a bigger, stronger fence to be built along the U.S. border with Mexico, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean, Fox News reports. There is an existing fence, but in some places it is just a wire strand or metal rail. In sections where it is already strong, made of steel or razor wire, immigrants have to travel long distances to get around them.

The activists behind Weneedafence.com, which is running a national TV ad, are pushing it as a security issue, saying terrorists could easily slip into the country amid illegal immigrants. The group's Colin Hanna told Fox News, "What are people from Yemen and Syria and Iran doing in Mexico trying to enter the U.S. illegally?" He continued, "We are absolutely not anti-Hispanic, we do not think the fence should be perceived as anti-Hispanic or anti-Mexican, we are not anti-immigrant, we are pro-immigration, but we are pro-legal immigration."

Some Hispanic activists, however, oppose the idea of a border fence. Angela Sanbrano of the Central American Resource Center, and open-borders interest group, told Fox News about a fence, "I think what we're doing is criminalizing work and criminalizing the need of families to be together."

Do you think Congress would go for the idea of a fence, or would they be worried about losing the influential Hispanic vote?

Did local vice cops cross the line?

Lynnwood police concede they engaged in "rarely used" tactics during an undercover investigation into a suspected prostitution ring.

Those tactics, which included officers allowing prostitutes to masturbate them in exchange for cash, have raised questions among law-enforcement officials, legal experts and the Snohomish County Prosecutor's Office.
I believe this is what is known in law enforcement circles as "going above and beyond the call of duty".

A Washington state woman plans to file a civil rights suit against Southwest Airlines for getting kicked off a flight because of the T-shirt she was wearing. Lorrie Heasley had already departed from Los Angeles on Tuesday (October 4th) and was nearly halfway home when fellow passengers started complaining about her T-shirt. The shirt featured pictures of President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and a phrase similar to the film Meet the Fockers. Thirty-two-year-old Heasley said she was sporting the shirt as a gag and wanted to show it to her parents who were supposed to meet her at the Portland, Oregon airport.

Heasley claims that no one said anything to her about the T-shirt before she boarded the plane. After people started complaining during the flight, she was asked to cover up the shirt by cuddling with a sweatshirt, but it slipped off when she fell asleep. That's when flight attendants told Heasley she must either wear it inside out or exit the plane during the layover in Reno, Nevada. Heasley and her husband decided to leave before the last leg of the flight.

Lawyer Allen Lichtenstein said Heasley's T-shirt is protected political speech under the Constitution. He said the real issue is that the airline allowed her to wear the shirt on board in the first place and then objected only when people complained. Meanwhile, Southwest spokesperson Marilee McInnis said the rules filed with the Federal Aviation Administration say the airline will deny boarding to any customer whose clothing is, quote, "lewd, obscene, or patently offensive."

Does she have a right to wear this shirt? Did the airline do the right thing?

Did the cops use excessive force?

WFTV 9 is reporting...
Former UCF Student Suing Officers, City Over Taser Incident
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A former UCF student is suing two Orlando police officers and the city of Orlando for excessive force and civil rights violations. A videotape shows the 23-year-old woman being shot with two tasers after she was knocked to the ground by police during a Citrus Bowl tailgating party two years ago.
Watch the video on WFTV. They made the safer choice to use non lethal force to subdue the suspect rather than a physical altercation that could have injured both parties.

Did George Bush lie during his press conference?

Q Thank you, Mr. President. Mr. President, of all the people in the United States you had to choose from, is Harriet Miers the most qualified to serve on the Supreme Court?

THE PRESIDENT: Yes. Otherwise I wouldn't have put her on.

Clearly Harriet Miers IS NOT the most qualified candidate.

Choosing Miers, the president passed over outstanding judges and proven constitutionalists like Michael Luttig of the 4th Circuit and Sam Alito of the 3rd. And if he could not take the heat from the First Lady, and had to name a woman, what was wrong with U.S. appellate court judges Janice Rogers Brown, Priscilla Owens and Edith Jones?

Investigators: 14 Farm Laborers Rape Fla. Teen

Local6 is reporting...

IMMOKALEE, Fla. -- Fourteen field laborers broke into an 18-year-old woman's home, dragged her across the street and then took turns raping her, investigators said.

Each man was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and sexual battery by multiple perpetrators. All were in jail without bond Tuesday and could face up to life in prison if convicted. Twelve of the men are from Guatemala, one from Puerto Rico and the other from Mexico.

Mystery-woman Miers: New clues to resume

WND is reporting...

WASHINGTON – Harriet Miers, President Bush's nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court to replace Sandra Day O'Connor, is on record as supporting the establishment of the International Criminal Court, homosexual adoptions, a major local tax increase and women in combat.
Does this sound like someone cut out of the Scalia/Thomas mold? I think not! Do you feel betrayed by Bush's choice? I do.

Police Will Be Uniformed At Next UCF Game

WESH is reporting...

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A University of Central Florida task force looking into tailgating and other safety issues at football games said the university's police officers will be in uniform at the next home game on Saturday.

It's a step in the right direction. They need to do away with undercover sting operations. Instead of having multiple law enforcement agencies at the Citrus Bowl have just one. Put the jurisdiction where it belongs in the hands of OPD and keep the UCF police where they belong on campus. Watch for UCF president John Hitt to exploit this tragedy and push for an on campus stadium.

Key eyewitnesses offer new detailed version of UCF shooting

Check out the latest detail in the Central Florida Future. A very different picture is emerging.

About 10 minutes before UCF alumna Melissa Castora snapped the photo of Jenkins brandishing his weapon and grasping a man - identified as Robert McClintock - a scuffle involving McClintock began near a tent housing a group calling itself the UCF Drinking Team.

"It looked like a fist fight," the first witness said. The second witness added: "That's why we stopped to watch. Everyone had ... drinking team shirts on."

The fight also involved another person who remains unidentified. Witnesses said Jenkins approached the scene to stop the fight - not to ID students for underage drinking - and that his badge was displayed on a lanyard around his neck the entire time. They said when Jenkins arrived, the student scuffling with McClintock ran away.

Jenkins tried to restrain McClintock, the witnesses said, but he eventually broke free and ran to the Drinking Team's tent. Jenkins followed but encountered resistance there.

"He was overpowered by a group of beer-muscled individuals ..." UCF Sgt. Randy Mingo said during Jenkins' funeral service. The two witnesses agreed, identifying the group Mingo spoke of as wearing UCF Drinking Team shirts.

About five to 10 men began to crowd around Jenkins, the first witness said. "They pushed him down, shoved him and held him back from getting to [McClintock]."

First wtiness: "When he's on the floor he pulls out his gun and stands up. Everyone scattered."

Jenkins faced McClintock and with a gun in his right hand and handcuffs in his left "takes the gun and holds it ... pointing at his forehead, and said, 'you're under arrest,' " the first witness said.

That stopped the crowd for a second, the first witness said, before they swarmed Jenkins and began to "go and grab him from behind" and "pull his arm from behind that ... he was holding a gun with."

The witnesses said McClintock tried to run while people in Drinking Team shirts held Jenkins and yelled "run." Jenkins broke free and began to chase McClintock again. Before he could catch him, a non-student identified as Michael Young, 24, "bear-hugged him from behind," the first witness said.

Jenkins broke free of Young's hold and again tried to apprehend McClintock - his gun drawn the whole time, the witnesses said.

As Jenkins caught up with McClintock, Castora snapped her first photo of the incident showing Jenkins grabbing McClintock's T-shirt and holding the gun beside the left of his head.

Both witnesses say, however, that Jenkins was not aiming the gun at McClintock but rather about to strike him with the weapon.

"As the photo is taken he hits him in the head with the butt of the gun ... grabs him by the back of the neck and shoots up two or three rounds," the first witness said. "[Young] then comes from behind, pulls [Jenkins'] right arm down, which is holding the gun, and tries to take the gun."

The second witness said: "[Young] wasn't stopping. He was just pulling on [Jenkins]. It looked like he was trying to take his gun away."

First witness: "The cop then reacts and shoots him in the stomach."

Does Danny Know What He’s Doing?

Heart-breaking moments—and, amazingly some lighter ones, too—fill the trail-blazing ‘Breaking Bonaduce.’

Sept. 30, 2005 - Next week, Danny Bonaduce will try to kill himself. Not everyone will think that this is a terrible thing. Bonaduce is perhaps the most egregious example of a washed-up child actor who refuses to go away—he’s somehow kept himself in the spotlight for 30 years since his only legitimate success, “The Partridge Family,” went off the air, and plenty of people think that death wouldn’t be a bad way to silence the loudmouth redhead forever. For those cynics, the truly bad news is this: Bonaduce not only survives (which is often what happens when you try to off yourself using your wife’s pink safety razor), but the whole affair is bound to make him semifamous all over again, seeing how he attempts suicide while filming a VH1 reality TV show called “Breaking Bonaduce.

Stumbling Storm-Aid Effort Put Tons of Ice on Trips to Nowhere

Your Tax Dollars at work!

WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 - When the definitive story of the confrontation between Hurricane Katrina and the United States government is finally told, one long and tragicomic chapter will have to be reserved for the odyssey of the ice.

Ninety-one thousand tons of ice cubes, that is, intended to cool food, medicine and sweltering victims of the storm. It would cost taxpayers more than $100 million, and most of it would never be delivered.

"Suicide Bomber" Outside of Oklahoma Stadium During Game Saturday Night

One killed in explosion near OU stadium

NORMAN, Okla. - One person was killed in an explosion near a packed football stadium at the University of Oklahoma on Saturday night in what authorities said appeared to be a suicide.

The blast, in a traffic circle about 100 yards from Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, could be heard by some in the crowd of 84,000, but university President David Boren said no one inside the stadium was ever in danger.

"We are apparently dealing with an individual suicide, which is under full investigation," Boren said in a statement. There was no information about the person who was killed, and no reports of any other injuries.

A police bomb squad detonated explosives found at the site of the blast. The area near the stadium was searched by bomb-sniffing dogs.
